This is one of those tools that'll sit in your trailer never used until you build a deck. When you do use it, you'll love it!!! Gone are the days of hammering a chisel into the joists while trying to pull a warped deck board into place.. STOP destroying your joists and go with this instead. It makes one man installations possible at break neck speeds. Mine paid for itself halfway through my first project just in time saved.. I used this to straighten treated 1.5 x 8 Center Match boards for a deck; these are tongue and grove and dimensionaly thick (1-1/2 inches). The tool kept slipping and tilting on the deck joists when you were pulling on the handle, the little knob to adjust for joist thickness broke off, and a small corner of the orange block broke off. None of that made it unusable, just a PITA. Overall, I got the job done with it, so two stars. It is still usable, didn't have to go in the garbage. Maybe that thick wood was just too tough for this thing. It might be fine for regular 5/4 decking. ... show more
