Blinds do block the light and do retract well. Suggest in ordering, get a longer length than the window size. Extending the blinds to their full length may not be desirable as will want to retract a couple inches. I do recommend as they are an inexpensive compared to big box store blinds. Installation was straightforward and supplied brackets allow installation within window frame or above window. Supplied screws are M6x1” and I had some longer screws I utilized as my scenario had wood trim to screw into. Have had blinds installed for 2 days and no issues.

I went with this color to match warm tones from the room's pale yellow walls and light wood framing. But was I successful?? You be the judge! I quite like the different aesthetics the shades create throughout the day and in different indoor/outdoor lighting scenarios; personally, I found the "light filtering" variant necessary to accomplish this, but you may prefer an opaque shade to reduce incident sunlight for lower costs, or if you are a creature of the shadows. Vampires have needs too. INSTALLATION: Straightforward, requires a drill. I opted to use longer screws, but you can also drill thinner holes for more shear surface area. The shorter screws that are provided with the shade will suffice, nonetheless. The shade also comes with a plastic tab that snaps on to the bottom rail to make it easier to raise and lower. MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION: Probably should be dusted every now and then... but I will not judge you. Of note: I have had my shades up for four months, and in that time, they have lost some of their elasticity due to the ravages of Old Man Gravity. I think this is called plastic stress or deformation, and it appears to be unavoidable. It makes the shades more difficult to raise and lower. MISCELLANEOUS: Seller was very helpful and accommodating! Reasonably high quality materials and production for the price. Packaged well, and arrived in perfect condition. If you like how snugly my shades fit the portal in the pictures, I measured very carefully and so should you! (I mean measure YOUR window portal, not mine, you weirdo) The shades are available in different widths, and these are quite precise--my window portal is 80" across, so I decided on 2x39 = 78"... somewhat nervously. I got 78" as listed!

I needed pitch-black nap time conditions for our 3-month-old’s nursery, and these SBARTAR cordless honeycomb blinds nailed it. Install took maybe 15 minutes with a drill—just measure, pop the brackets in, and the headrail clicks into place. The first thing I noticed after lowering them was the silence; the honeycomb cells muffle street noise better than our old vinyl slats, and—in the 90 °F afternoon heat—the room stayed a few degrees cooler without the A/C working overtime. Operation is buttery-smooth: a gentle tug and they glide up, stop exactly where I let go, then stack neatly at the top. No dangling cords means nothing for curious little hands (or the dog) to pull—huge peace of mind. Minor nitpick: the plastic end caps on the bottom rail feel a bit cheap; I had to tap one back in after bumping it with the vacuum. But that’s a five-second fix and honestly the only flaw I’ve found. After three weeks of use the verdict is clear: better sleep for the baby, lower afternoon power bills, and a cleaner look than anything I’ve tried under $70. I’m ordering two more for the office and primary bedroom next payday. If you need real blackout plus cordless safety, these are worth every penny.

Look great but took a long time to come in. My son pulled on his f the blinds down and the strings came loose. Now we have to hold it up with rubber bands. I like them nice but a little fragile.

Real Blackout and Energy Savings I bought these for bedroom windows, but now have them throughout my entire house. Not only do they block out light very well (I selected the "blackout" kind), they also save me tons on my energy bills by insulating windows in the winter and blocking light out when shut in the summer. In 8 months of use I have seen tremendous energy savings. Style, Installation, and Use I have the "Cool Gray" color and it goes well in every room of the house and looks very stylish. I did an inside mount in each window because I dislike the look of curtains and the space curtains take up. When shut they do not need any curtains to block light. When open they retract so small, they look seemless in the room. They were simple to install, and work very well. No cords to worry about, and no dented panels. Adults and children can open and close them with ease. These are easily the best cordless blinds on the market and have met our needs very well.
