This is the review of the White Electric Queen-Size Murphy Bed. I ordered on 8/4 and got the shipment on 8/7, which is super quick, and I guess it is because the shipper is in SCal and I'm in NCal. I didn't have scratches on any of the panels, and lucky me. I spent about 6.5 hours, from unboxing to a fully assembled, working electric Murphy bed in the DEN of my condo as a guest bed, with my wife's assistance. I consider myself something of a handyman, and I have all the tools I need to DIY almost everything around the house, including this assembly without using those crappy hand tools that came along. Tips: 1. You must use a power drill and impact driver, extension, and hex bits. If you don't have any tools and rely solely on the hand tool that came with the shipment, you'll be in trouble. It might take you a minimum of two days and leave you with sore hands and arms afterward. 2. A stool or box as support that will help you big time as 3rd hand. 3. Find the stud and anchor with a wood screw. It comes with 6 L-metal plates. Don't use any drywall anchors, as they won't work at all. Don't use those pre-drilled holes on the top if they don't align with the stud; drill your own instead. I used 4 of the L-metal plates, and it is super steady. 4. The last 5-7 steps are the most difficult when you need to connect both hydraulic cylinders to the bed frame and integrate all steps you did together. I spent most of the time here. You need two people to complete those few remaining steps. 5. In order for you to anchor to the stud, you first must raise the bed with the remote to fully close. The weight of the bed frame pulls the cabinet away from the wall. **Be careful when you do this; someone must stand on both sides to push the cabinet against the wall while the bed is closing electronically. 6. The seller said the mattress cannot be more than 9.8" in thickness, but that's incorrect. It can go as much as 12", as I already measured it, but I would say 11-11.5" max on the safe side. 7. You need a wide and large open space of about 12' x 12' to comfortably do the assembly Here are my 2 cents that I wish were better. 1. The user manual can only guide you 70% of the time, and you must use your own intelligence to figure out the rest. The drawing in the manual is not detailed enough, and a lot of the time you will have to guess since it can go either way. I have to redo some of the steps towards the end, especially when assembling the 4 sides on the entire bed cabinet. If the user manual were great, it would definitely reduce assembly time. (1/2 star off) 2. Inconsistent panel gaps. (1/2 star off) Pro: Solid and looks heavy-duty. Hydraulic system was quiet and smooth. Color was great. For Seller: Re-do your user manual with extreme detail. Use the Ikea user manual as a benchmark. Once you do that well, your review will start getting much better. You need to rewrite the entire process about wall anchoring. The current step will cause people to fail and to hate your product. Will I buy this again now that I know what to expect? Likely will since there is no other decent electric Murphy bed with this kinda quality and price. ... show more

Very high difficulty level for putting together and install to the wall. One shock was locked up but we finally got it to release. In the end it works great and is beautiful!
