Love this yarn winder. Worth the price. Was using a $9 hand wind that I purchased very early into my knitting journey and it was a nightmare everytime I went to use it. Wouldn’t stay tethered to the table, somehow the yarn would slip off the post, etc. this one grips the table so well, holds yarn tension evenly and taught, and I was able to actually do something else while watching it wind. Totally hands free winding. Easy to put together and uses a USBC for power so cords are readily available around my sewing room. Would buy again.

I had watched review after review on the Caydo Electric yarn Winder done by some of my favorite knitting and crochet YouTubers. I was tempted but never took the chance until my trusted manual yarn winder finally broke right in the middle of winding yarn. I’ve used manual winders for years, so switching to an electric one felt unnecessary at first. I only bought it because I needed something quickly. It turns out I should have upgraded sooner. The first thing that surprised me was how compact it is. It doesn’t take up much room compared to what I expected, which matters if your craft area is already crowded with yarn, hooks, needles, and finished and unfinished projects like mine. Performance-wise, I’ve been impressed. I’ve wound everything from lace-weight yarn to bulky yarn with very little trouble. The yarn cakes come out neat and even, and it has enough capacity to handle yarn with a lot of yardage without constantly stopping or struggling. One thing buyers should know, because I almost missed it: this needs to be plugged into a wall outlet to work. It would not run plugged into a charging brick or my computer USB port. Once connected properly to an outlet, though, it worked fine. I also appreciate not having to crank by hand through larger skeins or reclaimed yarn from frogged projects. If you knit or crochet regularly, saving your hands and time matters more than you think. The tension has been consistent for me, and overall, winding yarn feels less like a chore now. I originally ordered this because my old one failed. Instead of a replacement, it feels like a genuine upgrade. For knitters and crocheters with larger yarn stashes or who often work with different yarn weights, I think this is worth considering. Easy 5 stars from me.

Absolutely love this. I just recently pre-ordered the Caydo electric knitting machine and really wanted an electric yarn winder. Their new one that just came out is really nice, but after spending money on the electric knitting machine I couldn’t justify making another big purchase. This smaller machine works really well for me and was affordable. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and will allow me to wind all my yarn and create a center pull that will work well with my new knitting machine as well as the ones I already own.

This thing is a knitters dream! I had so many flat skeins that end up in a tangled mess. NO MORE. It’s easy to set up and even easier to use. The speed control is great and makes a tight and very nice cake. It will make a large or small cake. The device slows or stops at a knot or bind up. This one costs a bit more but the old you get what you pay for is true with this. It’s perfect!

Great item as it can be used everywhere you want it to due it having a clamp that easy to use. The price that it is at might not be fully worth it as it pauses every 8minutes or even shorter. Great if you have children who might try and put their hands during it as it automatically stops the movement if it feels heavy pressure on the yarn or the machine. If it has a small knot it untangles it automatically. But my only real complaint is that pauses randomly and having to move around the nob for it to start up again.

After seeing a lot of reels on Facebook and seeing short videos on YouTube about this Caydo Yarn Winder I decided to try it out. I am so glad that I did! My days of hand winding yarn are over! What a great product. I have used all sorts of yarns and every single cake comes out perfect. It takes about two minutes to set up and start using. Lighter weight yarn winds up great and the machine doesn't skip or struggle with it at all. If winding a worsted weight that on the thicker/heavier side the machine is still runs smooth but I noticed it struggles a little if you wind the entire skein. The description for this Caydo says that it can wind up to 7oz I believe and that is about right. The yarn gets heavier as it is tightly wound into a cake so make sure to adjust the speed accordingly to how much yarn you are going to wind. I found that it is not really loud. Sure you hear the hum of the motor but that is understandable. I haven't had any issues with tangling and no the yarn doesn't stretch out because of the tension. Its a perfect size because its not too bulky like some of the other winders out there. All in all, I am super glad I purchased this Caydo Yarn Winding Machine.

Ive tried multiple different yarn winders over the years and this is best one i've found so far!! It makes pretty big cakes, way bigger than my last 2 did. Works great with fluffy/blanket yarn too. I definitely recommend this one! Attaches to the table good and I really love the speeds as well. :)

I can't believe how much better this machine is over the hand roll one I have. Not only in function, but the quality is excellent. You can see and feel the quality difference and so far, it's performed well consistently. I would definitely buy this machine again, and not hesitate to recommend it to others. I also saw this Caydo brand in an i-cord making machine which is what made me try this yarn winder by them. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.
