So let me get this out of the way first, this machine is heavy-grade plastic, it is very sturdy and has stainless steel knobs, but it makes great coffee! The portafilter is pressurized, however if you want to, you can buy a bottomless portafilter basket for 51mm, and it works great! honestly couldn't tell the difference between this and my mom's delonghi (with the new basket)! One gripe I have is that if you use the included portafilters, then you wont be able to use a very fine espresso grind. ... show more

I lucked out that this machine color (mocha cream) works perfectly in my coffee nook! But it's a beautiful machine, compact and effective. I have a Nespresso, and it's nice, but I wanted something with more flexibility. This machine gives me the ability to grind my own beans. I drink decaf, and the selection of decaf pods for coffee machines (any kind of coffee) is pitiful. It's easier to find decaf beans I like, and this makes it possible for me to easily have any kind of latte or cappuccino I want any time I want it! I really enjoy a good coffee, but drinking decaf limits me even in coffee shops. We have a really cute one near us, but they don't offer ANY decaf other than one type for a regular cup of coffee. Now I have my own coffee shop that I can sit in in my pajamas and drink decaf whenever I want lol It took a couple attempts to figure out exactly what the directions wanted me to do to clean the frother. The rest of it was simple. But I got it all cleaned and made my first cup. I ground my beans, used the tamper to get them into the filter, and quickly made a delicious cup of decaf! I frothed the milk easily and then cleaned the frother immediately as instructed. This isn't much bigger than my Nespresso, and it enabled me to get rid of my "emergency" dual coffee pot system that had a regular coffee and espresso machine all in one. I kept it for because it was cheaper and more environmentally friendly than using 12+ pods when we had company. It brews a quick and tasty coffee, and I love the option for brewing single or double. Also like the flexibility of different sizes of cups with the removable drip tray. Plus it makes it easier to clean the drip tray! I took pictures when I was brewing and frothing and can't find them. I'm afraid I might have deleted them thinking I had already done my review. I will take more when able and update this review. ... show more

Let me start by saying I misplaced the user guide and I had never used an actual espresso machine before. I went to the Cavdle website but couldn't find anything for this product. After a week or so of doing my best without the book, I finally found it, but the steam wand still seems like a pain. I feel like I get better results with a standalone frother. The espresso turns out pretty tasty, but I'm honestly not sure I'd choose this over the Nespresso Vertuo + frother. Maybe it's my operating skills, or I haven't found the right coffee. I do love the look of the machine and flexibility this offers, and it feels more authentic than using a pod system. ... show more
