I use these to refill the Turbo Scratcher, but I also use them in an upstairs room at my Dad's and by themselves at our apartment. Both our cats love them! His cat scratches on it whenever someone comes in the door or after he has run around for awhile. My cat just enjoys laying on top of it mainly. It is like toddlers - You give them toys to play with, and their favorite "toy" is the box it came in or banging on pots and pans. Our cats are content with just the refills - and 5 to a pack, they scratch one up, you turn it OVER, and they scratch some more... when there is a hole, put out another one. Great money saver "toy"!

After a year of use, I give them four stars. The only reason they don't get five stars is the mess. My cats love these and they certainly safe the furniture, but keep in mind that the cardboard does break down fairly quickly and the scratching produces little tiny pieces of shredded paper which have to be cleaned regularly. I have two cats and a two pack of the scratch boards last about 3-4 months before replacement is required, so the annual cost is about $67 -- or half that much if you have only one cat.

my cat has 2 of these scratchers, they have been around longer than she has (I always have at least 1 cat), but the refills are stupidly expensive. This is the best and cheapest option I have found. Are the durable? for what they are, they work, they keep her claws out of my couch, and yes, they get shredded and fall apart. But it usually takes a couple of months each. So, gonna keep buying them.

I recently got the Best Pet Supplies Cat Scratcher Refill Pads and they're a great deal. You get two scratchers in one pack, which is awesome for the price. They're really sturdy and hold up well against my cat's claws, plus it's nice knowing I can recycle them when they're worn out. Definitely a good buy for keeping my cat happy and my furniture scratch-free!

I bought these unsure if they were good quality and was surprised. My cats are agressive with their scratch pads (I put cat nip in them) and these have held up well. Plus the price comparison, same quality but these are way cheaper.

My gato absolutely delights in destroying these things. But that's the whole idea. He gets that urge out on these and not on the furniture, or the curtains, or the carpet, or the laundry hamper, or the door frames, or a lamp shade, or the...... Yeah, he's kind of a freak. I just wish they were 1/4" larger in diameter. The original refills (I think it's called a scratch around?- a ball captured in a circular track around the outside with this in the center) were large enough that friction kept them from coming out. These fit loosely enough that he can pull them out and then finish them off with his teeth. Yeah, he's kind of a freak.

We have six indoor cats who love to play with the three turboscratchers we provided for them. The cardboard inserts get pretty ripped up (better those than the furniture). Bergan charges a fortune for their branded replacement inserts, so I took a chance on these inserts even though they’re reportedly 1/4 inch smaller in diameter. The fact is, these inserts fit perfectly in the Bergan turboscratchers. They are not too small at all. For the money, these replacement cardboard inserts are a great value. I will definitely buy them in the future.
