My cat uses the scratchers and not the furniture. It probably helps that I have a pretty good cat, but he did take to these right away. The included catnip would probably help some cats be interested the the scratcher, but my Dandy is not a catnip addict. I knew this product was cheap and that Amazon is cutting cost in shipping items by shipping in original packaging. The issue is that the original packaging is a very thin, flimsy plastic. The item was gauged because of this on the bottom. There also was no cardboard backing on it, so when you put catnip on it, it will go through the scratcher and get all over the floor. Works for what I needed, won’t be buying again. *Update*: we heard from the company and they offered us a refund. We won’t be doing that because we did pay for a product and we did receive it. Amazing customer service on the part of the seller, so thank you. Updated the stars from 2 to 4. ... show more

My 3 cats took to these immediately and have definitely stopped scratching my furniture since I’ve installed these in the house! 😅 I do wedge them between two pieces of furniture to keep them secured and so that they don’t come up when they dig their nails in. My cats LOVE these. This is not my first order of these. My cats were so happy when I re-order these, they even sleep on them, or just hang out sitting on them. They just love when I get them new ones. Last time I tried a different, cheaper, version. And they didn't last, and my cats snubbed their noses at them. My cats really love the texture of the cardboard. They are, however, very puny. I guess you can’t complain to the price, but I would really like them to be longer. My cat don’t even big but they appreciate a good stretch.
