Great quality. Love the tight weave of the scratching pad. Bought the Large 17 inch because it was the largest offered. Wosh they offered an XL. My tomcat is 20 lbs part mancoon. He is used to XL ones but he really liked this one.

I ordered two of these to replace a couple of worn out scratching mats. I checked out a few different versions and after reading the description of these, I decided to make the purchase. One of the things I don't care for with the older ones that I have is that when they are used, little pieces of cardboard are spread all around the floor around the box. The description said that these won't shred like that, so that was my final selling point. When they arrived, I was sad to see that they weren't the same size as the ones I usually purchase. They are shorter and narrower than the size I get. My family calls the thin scratchers "single wide" and the larger ones "double wide", as they needed the double wide for their cats so they don't hang over the edge. I believe you can choose from a couple of sizes, so if you are going to buy these, make sure you are picking the right size for your cat. The cardboard is really sturdy and I like how they are angled so cats can scratch at an incline, if they are smaller cats. My cats have to place their hind legs on the floor in order to scratch with their front paws. Either that or they lay on the scratcher and scratch in a less-effective way. The thing about these that caused me to give it only 3 stars was the mess all around the scratchers. I have to constantly vacuum the little pieces of cardboard before they get carried to somewhere else in my home. I ordered these in late June, and they are already making a mess. I am ready to put these in the recycle bin outside and purchase 2 of the SmartyKat double-wide cat scratchers. They come with catnip, while these ones didn't. ... show more

Recently adopted a five year old cat who had what sounded like a unfortunate past. He shows no interest in cat trees or the upright scratchers. Tried this, put some nip on it, he been scratching at it constantly! He loves it so I love it and will be buying more.

My cat loved these scratching boards! He doesn't really sharpen his claws that often, I think his paws and feet in general are more sensitive than other kitties, so he maybe uses these boards once or twice a day! He prefers to sit on them and gnaw on them to rip up the cardboard occasionally which is fine, I'm sure that's what they're made for! Immediately upon opening this item, I did notice that the surface when I ran my hands over it was quite soft, almost like the cardboard was cut and sanded down on the top layer to not be as sharp as "raw cardboard" like on an Amazon delivery box, which I appreciated since my cat has sensitive paws. The color doesn't really matter to me, but it's just cardboard! :) It's easy to pick up stray pieces of cardboard from the floor when he does scratch some loose, and I don't have to worry about him eating it while I'm not watching bc if he does get a piece, it's just paper basically lol... value for money wise, I'd say it's alright, it's just a cardboard scratcher and I liked that it was a two pack for this price, but I heard you can just make these at home yourself too! Otherwise, it works as intended and my cat likes it enough to sleep on it once in a while <3 it's easy to assemble and open, and easy to keep clean!
