I'm really glad I got this carrier bag for my cat. For one, it's easier and more comfortable to carry than a crate, and (more importantly) my cat seems to find it more comfortable to be in as well. Or at the very least he meows a lot less in protest now if we need to go somewhere like the vet. With his head outside of the carrier I imagine he feels a lot less confined, especially since his vision isn't as obstructed as it was before (which I think he appreciates since I notice him taking more interest in his surroundings when he's in his carrier bag than when he used to have to be in his crate). He also will willingly go back into his carrier bag on his own as his little safe space in the office once a vet exam has finished, which is something he'd never done before with his crate. 100% would recommend. Quick notes on handling of the carrier bag when your cat is inside it - always best practice to keep a hand underneath your cat in the carrier as a source of stable support whenever the bag is on your shoulder. And when grabbing the long strap (either to maybe get your cat out of your car or when passing the carrier to a vet, for instance), I'd suggest making sure to hold the strap with two hands spread farther apart rather than with just one hand in the middle of the strap. The bag is pretty loose, so if you grab it just in the middle, the pull of the handle on the carrier may make it bend back in a way that could be uncomfortable for your cat. ... show more

I used it for the first time yesterday for my cat's annual wellness visit at the vet. It really did help keep him calmer than normal but the vet tech told me I still need to bring him in a proper carrier. I do not feel confident that he can't wiggle out of this soft carrier when I'm carrying him in it as he totally freaks out when outisde. For these two reasons, I removed two stars. Since I only take him out to go to the vet as he is so scared to be outside, I was thinking about returning it. I am however keeping it and will put him inside the soft carrier first before placing him in the hardside carrier. He really fights me not wanting to get into the hard shell one and this will help keep his legs tucked in. This should make it easier to get him into the hard shell carrying case. ... show more

I love using this cat in the bag at the vet clinic for handling fractious cats. The fabric is thick so nails do not go through easily. It has openings to get at front legs or back legs. Second time getting one.

Is there a learning curve? Yes. If you've been accustomed to using traditional carriers, there's an adjustment to finagling your cat into this bag. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. It does come with a very helpful guide. When they say to make the collar snug, yes, make it snug. It won't choke your cat. It kept my little escape artist nice and secure. My cat loves to sing the song of his people when we take trips to the vet. I can definitely confirm he was a lot calmer and a lot less vocal with this carrier.     • Safe, calming way to administer nasal meds to a cat

Wow! I have 15 year old, 14 pound cat who has been seen by multiple veterinarians for acute rhinitis causing bloody noses and discharge. Finally, at the animal hospital he received multiple nasal drops which worked to clear the nasal clog and stop the bleeding. I was told to do the same treatment daily at home to keep the nasal clogs and bleeding at bay. The first two days with the nasal drops at home were disastrous. Days 3, 4, 5 and 6 were burrito towel wraps. Each wrap was a tussle and a fight with prayers for my own safety and my cats’ physical and emotional well being. Each wrap and nasal drops taking about 15 astonishingly unpleasant minutes. Almost ready to give up I ordered this cat bag. Not expecting much I tried for the first time today. Wow. My kitty’s head went in with ease and it took literally seconds to adjust the neck hole. Tucked him inside and zipped up, maybe 30 seconds. He relaxed immediately and lay down in the bag. Wow. Dosing his nose with the nasal drops in both nostrils was done in under a minute. While he is not a fan of the nasal drops, he didn’t fight the bag or me. Total time spent, maybe two minutes. Wow. When I opened the neck hole he slid his body out so tomorrow I’ll work on getting him to exit through the zipper area. This is absolutely the best, safest, and most calming way to interact with my cat for administering nasal drops. Wow, just wow. ... show more
