I ordered these boots for a field trip with the University of Pennsylvania Working Dog Center. Work boots were required for climbing on the rubble pile (to train search and rescue dogs). I only had short notice that I was going so I was afraid any new boots would lead to lots of blisters by the end of an eight hour day. However, these boots were quite comfortable right out of the box—with the caveat—ORDER BETTER LACES AT THE SAME TIME YOU ORDER THE BOOTS. Like many others have reported, the laces that come with the boots are terrible. I put the boots on as soon as they arrived so I could begin to break them in and a ten minute dog walk had me wondering if the boots would work. The standard laces are springy and don’t allow for getting the boots laced tightly. They were also beginning to fray at the end. I put the new laces on as soon as I got back home and that made all the difference in the world. Not only could I get the right tension on the laces, but I did a single tie on trip day and the laces stayed tied ALL DAY. I was running through thick brush video taping wilderness search dogs in training so reliable laces were important. I bought the—DELELE 2 Pair Round Wave Shape Non Slip Heavy Duty and Durable Outdoor Climbing Shoelaces Hiking Shoe Laces Shoestrings. After wearing the boots all day the ankles were totally broken in. They had been stiff, but not painful to start. The boots are NOT heavy and clunky. I had no problems with navigating rough terrain. I couldn’t be happier with the boots. They were affordable, especially since I won’t be wearing them day in and day out. They also come in half sizes. I took a chance and ordered my true size, 7.5, and they fit perfectly. The only concern I have is the leather has a “soft” finish and I fear they will get scratched up. Tramping through the brush did leave them roughed up, but not really bad.

Love these work boots! I do volunteer construction and disaster relief in hot and wet climates, so I needed something really durable, comfortable, that would keep my feet dry but also not be too hot. These are perfect! I can wear these for 12+ hours and have no foot pain, and even after doing concrete work my feet stay protected and dry. For me they’re also not heavy. I mean, they’re work boots, it’s not like they’re light foam sandals, but I’ve had way heavier work boots that feel like a chore to walk in - not these. I would say the only slight con is that these could have better grip/anti slip tread. On concrete/dirt/mud/wood these are fine, but there was one instance when I needed to unload a very heavy object from a trailer, and when I went to back down the (smooth) metal ramp I had no grip at all and someone had to rush in to help me because I was sliding down. But honestly…how often are you going to be walking on an untextured stainless steel ramp? I think these are great work boots and would highly recommend them.

One of the best work boots I have purhased. CAT is a great brand. They are comfortable. They are very functional. I am on my feet a large portion of my 8-13 hour work day and these help out a great deal. I like that they are water proof. The reflective accents are a plus. They are true to size and width. The style makes for an eye catching work boot. They aren't heavy but pretty light for a work boot.

I have needed rugged work boots for over 20 years now. I had been pretty loyal to another brand for a long time, but started shopping around when they stopped making the 6 inch boots (I live in South Florida, it's way too hot for tall boots!). I'm so glad I found these. As other reviews have noted, they are super comfortable right out of the box. Plenty of support with just the right amount of springy feel in the soles. I was still kind of skeptical until today. I put them through their paces at work today. I feed and care for 21 horses (and one very stubborn mini mule) in all types of weather, on all types of ground surfaces. During the rainy season it's very muddy, often with puddles 3 inches deep with no way to avoid walking through them. These boots handle all of that, and then some. After a full day at the farm, they've proved themselves. The waterproofing is superb, and even in slick mud they have good traction. Here's what made me write this review: I've never owned a pair of work boots that didn't require a week or two of breaking in, usually painfully. The other reviews are right! These really are comfortable right off the bat!! Not a single blister, and my feet aren't sore at all. I've owned about a dozen pairs over the years, almost all were more expensive than these, and these are by far the very best- and they look great! If they hold up for a few good years, I'll be a customer for life.

Just repurchased a new pair! Had my first pair for about 2 and a half years! They held up very well considering!! Lasted way long than any other steel toed shoe I’ve tried. Once you break these in they are very comfy. I always get insoles for any work shoe I buy. These boots with insoles is chefs kiss 👍🏻

These boots are very well constructed. They exceeded my expectations. I purchased these to replace a pair of worn out work boots. I was looking for a work boot with steel reinforced toes, as I was doing hardscaping and needed the extra protection. These boots are solid, but comfortable. They are waterproof and have great traction. They boots do seem to run slightly big. I normally wear a women's 7.5 (US), but probably could have gotten a 7. I was not looking for anything stylish - just practical. This boot is exactly what I was looking for.

They squeak! I’ve ordered two pairs and both times one of the boots squeaked so terribly loud that it would be embarrassing to wear them around other people. The first order it was the left boot, and the second order it was the right boot. This just goes to show they have the ability to make non-squeaky boots, but something is wrong in the factory and many of these pairs have factory defects. Maybe that’s why they’re being sold here on Amazon? Again, the squeaky squeaking squeak noise is so loud that it is a very embarrassing sound that I would not want anybody to hear.
