These are my go-to for steel toe work boots. I have been wearing Caterpillar 2nd shift boots for 25+ years. In a heavy construction 60-80 hr a week environment I get 2-3 years use out of them. in normal environment 40 hr a week job weekend warrior / camping I get 4-5 years use. I normally use a 2 week break-in routine for these. Week 1 only ware at home for 4 hours a day Week 2 only ware at home for 8 or more hours a day They are reasonably water proof if you keep up on polish or silicone spray. The Goodyear welt and rubber sole is very durable its thick rubber similar to a car tire not the super soft foam rubber that many other brands have. It does lack a rubber toe over molding but that can be remedied with toe protectant / boot goop. Unless you are working in gravel or steel grating environments on your knees the leather should last the life of the boot without adding to the toe. I have tried other more expensive brands but found them no more comfortable after break in period and they didn't last any longer than this brand does.

I've been a fan of these boots for years. I have gone through three pairs in 7 years. When I first ordered these shoes, I was getting what I paid for. The material was thick and padded, and the leather seemed more durable. The last pair I ordered was in 2020. Wonderful pair of boots, lasted me damn near three years! When I got my new pair out of the box, I could immediately tell that they were worse quality. The material and padding on the inside is almost half as thick. The leather is way less durable and scuffed within the first day, and I do my best to take care of my shoes, so they will last long and get my money's worth. These shoes are not even worth 60$. A pair of Walmart boots for 60$ would have been better quality than these boots. I am sorely disappointed in this clear drop in quality from Caterpillar and I will NOT be purchasing another pair in the future! Listen to the bad reviews folks, it'll save you money!!

These boots are meant to last. Because of this I recommend them for seasoned veterans of the labor force or those who want to protect their feet at any cost. I've been working landscaping for over 10 years and these are by far my favorite pair of boots.

I've worked construction for 2 years with these boots and they're still in decent shape. Especially for the cost, I think they're great. Like the title states it took a while to wear them in but once that happened they're great. I have had to replace though as they frayed but that's no big deal to me

used them for about a month so far not bad just needs a better insole which i did replace. I work at a WWTP and I'm up and down metal stairs and and walk on concrete all day not good for slip resistant on polymer and unsure about chemical resistance but if I get a full year out them ill be happy, good price for what they are i paid $90 would buy again at that price.
