  • Good Boot and a Good Value
Size: 11 Wide Color: Dark Brown
Solidly constructed boot with an oil resistant, high traction sole. Much better than the schlock stocked at the local big box retailer. I don't work construction but instead use them around the house & yard when doing projects. More than adequate for that use and should last a good long time. The boots are not claimed to be waterproof and not insulated but used them this past weekend while shoveling the 6 inches of global warming off my driveway. No slipping and feet stayed dry and (relatively) warm. Leather uppers are soft to the touch and the stitching looks to be well done. Laces are sturdy and thick. If you are going to frequently expose these boots to water, would recommend an application of Neatsfoot (or Mink) oil to protect the leather and get maximum life out of the boots. Seem to run true to size - I have a 10.5 foot but got size 11 to allow for heavy socks. Fit fine with just the right amount of room in the toe box. Be forewarned - they are heavy. Very happy with the purchase and will buy again in the future when the need arises. ... show more

  • Good quality, comfortable, grippy
Size: 11 Color: Tan
Good boots, with a good, robust sole that is grippy and doesn’t slip. I like the look, and I like the feel. There’s plenty of room for my toes, which is nice. They’re not waterproof, but they have kept my feet dry so far as I’ve tromped around in Utah puddles and snow. They’re not winter boots, but they keep my feet reasonably warm for my use, coupled with wool socks. I applied mink oil and it keeps the leather from getting water logged as much, and I like the darker look that it gives them. ... show more

  • Without Any Equivocation, These Boots are the Best Workshoes I've Ever Owned.
Size: 11 Color: Dark Brown
Due to the fact that I have serious Neuropathy in both feet, and my left foot is larger than my right foot, I'm always hesitant to purchase shoes or boots--any shoes or boots. And, I'm even more hesitant to purchase work boots without having the opportunity to first try them. So, it was with great trepidation that I purchased this pair of Caterpillar Work Boots. Nevertheless, I just sort of "let it rip." Once the Caterpillar Work Boots arrived, I tried them on, and wore them inside my house. Obviously, I figured if the fit was less-than-acceptable, or they hurt my feet, I'd simply box them up and return them to Amazon. Amazingly, not only did they NOT hurt my feet, they fit spectacularly well; and they were even comfortable. Now, I've purchased far-too-many pairs of work boots throughout my life to even attempt to keep count, and NEVER have I ever had a pair of work boots fit as well as the Caterpillar Work Boots. They are simply amazing--I have no other way to describe them. Since receiving these Caterpillar Work Boots back in February 2020, I've worn them a number of times; and when I've worn them, I've had them on for an extended period of hours. I'm serious when I say these Caterpillar Work Boots are even more comfortable than any of my New Balance athletic shoes. Due to my severe Neuropathy, my Podiatrist suggested that I wear New Balance athletic shoes. New Balance athletic shoes are supposed to be "the poor man's answer to severe Neuropathy." And, I do agree that they ARE for "poor men"; I wear New Balance athletic shoes because my Podiatrist wanted to sell me a pair of custom-maid Diabetic shoes at the very pricey sum of $1,050.00 (one thousand fifty dollars, and zero cents). Since my health insurance plan will not cover the custom made Diabetic shoes, and custom-made insoles (i.e.; inserts), also at the extremely pricey sum of $450.00 (four hundred fifty dollars, and zero cents), I'm on-my-own for modalities. Well, heck, wearing the Caterpillar Work Boots is so comfortable I just might make them my "everyday shoes." After all I'm a resident of deep-south southwestern North Carolina, way up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so around these here-parts, the Caterpillar Work Boots just might be considered "very down-home; and very, very stylish." Y'all never know! But, I'd definitely recommend these Caterpillar Work Boots: they're very comfortable; exceptionally durable (they haven't even begun to show the slightest bit of wear); they have a great safety track record; and they're quite affordable. And, if you doubt me about the "affordable" part of my review, just check the prices on some of the competitor's work boots. You'll be shocked! The Caterpillar Work Boots are definitely deserving of Five Stars! ... show more

  • Good boots, comfy and warm, but are tight when you get them.
Size: 11.5 Color: Dark Brown
I love these new boots. Compared to my $55 work boots I bought at Wal-Mart for years these ones are almost state of the art for me. Especially for the price they are. My old ones were completely worn out, the soles of the rubber on the old pair ripped off and I was literally walking on my inserts that the shoes came with, on the other side of the boot I had one ripping the leather right off on top of the steel toe. So needless to say I HAD to replace them. Once I torn out the steel toe in it, they already were rusting. So it was a good time to replace them entirely. These boots feel amazing! However they're pretty tight when you first buy them. So expect to have some sore feet for a short while. You'll adjust over time in about 1 week of usage. The main areas you'll be sore at are your toes, they are very close to the steel toe insert so you'll feel them rubbing a bit for long hours causing some discomfort. But after a few days they'll stretch out. The sides of the Boot are a bit snug and hug your sides of the feet, which is a good thing. You don't want loose shoes to start with. Makes breaking them in better because they stretch to the size of your feet. The rubber on the bottom of your feet is rather thick, so you can walk on anything without much flex, making them ideal in rough terrain or sharp objects. (Not to sure how long they'll hold up, I work in a steel processing plant that deals with coils of steel. So over time they'll get cut up) The leather is soft and suede like. I've used Suede leather boots for a long while but these ones feel like they're of better quality than other cheaper boots. If you are going to use them in a steel factory or anything that is sharp. Be prepared to see them get cut up easily, mine already got battle scares after 1 week of usage. So do your best to avoid getting them cut up over time, which is what I'm trying to do to avoid ruining them to quickly. Quite a bit of money to throw away on a nice pair of work boots! Overall, I like them and will more than likely get another pair as long as the quality stays good. I'll update on any quality related issues in the future. So far, they're doing well for 1 week. If this comment doesn't get updated in the future, you KNOW they're a good Boot then for the price! ... show more
