Upon opening there is a strong material smell so i opened it up and let it air out for like a week or so. Now I find Clementine just hanging out in there I don’t think she realizes it’s a carrier and thinks its just another bed. I like this because her last carrier (a hard case) she would only ever be in there when forced for a vet visit or long drive to someplace. Haven’t used this for the vet or any sort of “traveling” like that but I put her in there to move her from one room to the next while there were maintenance people in the house. It is a soft bottom so it does sink when you lift it. The handle doesn’t cut into your hand by design since it is a soft leather of sorts. I put Clam in from the top so that the carrier retains its form while I’m working with the cat. It’s nice that it opens from both ends too (3 total entry points). I keep the carrier out so that Clementine can come hang out when she wants. Every so often I zip up the open door and turn it around so that the carrier keeps shape. The edge of the zip is sort of reinforced so when the “door” is shut its held up very well and when it is open it slightly slouches a bit but is still upright. This shows in the photo better than I can describe. The water bowl looked really cool but I haven’t used it yet. I let that air out and washed it after. If I end up using it I will also wash prior to use. The material smell is very strong here too when you open it. The bed mat inside is very soft and has a zipper so the casing can be washed. The whole thing can be taken out but has velcro in the middle to hold the mat in place. The rough side is on the bottom of the carrier so not ideal for using it without the mat. Wish the rough side of the velcro was on the bottom of the mat instead so it would just be an odd soft spot to lay on when the mat is removed. It has a platform of sorts? Inside the bottom of the mat (for antileak peeing protection I think). Clam really likes how it feels laying on this bed. It isn’t too intimidating for her to approach. I am a 58-year-old woman who, after many years and many cats, finally had to replace an older cat carrier that gave many cats a fine ride. I found this on Amazon and I am impressed by all the newest features like soft sides, lightweight, mesh windows, a seat belt buckle to fit the car seat, a carrying strap, a wide strap across the back to attach to your rolling suitcase if needed (bonus to me), and a collapsible water bowl. All of this and it folds away in a neat plastic pouch. That all said. I have six cats. If I would get 5 more of these, fold them, and put them all away, they would all take up less space than all my old hard-sided cat carriers. Oh by the way... well made. Thank you. I couldn't get my monsters to stay still for a picture, but it fit both my 2 year old cat and 4 month old kitten just fine with room for him to grow and fit with his sister. The 4 month old is an escape artist, but so far the carrier has contained his efforts so far. It seems secure and sturdy, but I haven't used it more than once out in public. The quality seems nice, but I'll be back if there's any issues to speak of. Zippers and strap seem secure. Strap is nice. Bedding inside is soft. ... show more

It’s a great size for my toy poodle. Very roomy for a small dog. I love that it comes with a nice pad at the bottom, Velcro’s in and is machine washable. Sturdy, breathable and stylish, my boyfriend likes it too. It’s been a great bag for our pup. I wish it was a bit more see through but other than that still give it 5 stars. We weren’t sure but ended up getting this one but glad we did. The kittens came home in it and they were comfortable, warm and cuddly. I personally loved the carrier. It has pockets to store their travel essentials. Even comes with a collapsible bowl for feedings on the go. Bigger than it seems. It fit two 13 weeks old kittens very comfortably in it. Easily can be used for adult cats. Great softsided carrier for my cats. I thought it might only hold my lighter kitties but it is very sturdy and holds them all, except maybe the 25 pounder. I put him in heavier carrier. When carrying kitties in this carrier I always am asked where I got it and am complimented on its qualities. This carrier is really nice . I love it, because you're pet can see out both sides and top this is what i have been looking for. Something that air flowed good and my pets is not so enclosed, but secured in a good way. Ready to put in my vehicle and searbelt my pet in safely. Really well made.

Happy with quality and functionality. My pup jumps (Toy Poodle) in and out himself and it has a side opening which is useful. I’ll just point out my pup likes to bite the mesh and you need to be careful teeth don’t get stuck in it. Otherwise happy purchase!
