  • Great carrier..
The media could not be loaded. Very nice carrier. Can be used as a small solid walled carrier, or unzipped which makes it larger and gives it a more open meshy feel. Folds down for easy storage when not in use.

  • So much better than bulky hard sided carriers!!
I love this cat carrier. It reminds me of the tubes my cat has to play in when it expands. It’s perfect to leave out all the time or fold down into a much smaller profile if you’re low on space. I’ll probably keep mine out. According to “cat daddy” Jackson Galaxy (the Caesar Milan of cats) it’s a good idea to leave the cat’s carrier out if you can. If they’re treating it as a house it’s going to get easier to get them into it for trips outside the house. The bag itself seems quite sturdy and includes a hard bottom encased in a velvety fabric for kitty’s comfort. The expandable sides are accessible easily with the slide of a zipper. The carrier also has a top and a side closure. I don’t know about you, but I find it more difficult to stuff a cat in a box head first. It’s so much easier to put them in feet first. The top closure is a larger hole too so it will be harder for kitty to grip the sides if they don’t want to go in. When it comes to kitty’s enjoyment of the carrier in question, you know your cat. They’re all different. If you’ve had good carrier etiquette since they were a baby, it’s probably going to be fine. I personally just rescued a four year old stray whose been roaming my neighborhood for at least 4 months (I didn’t steal him! He was not neutered, nor was he chipped, nor was he on any website that my town uses re:lost pets). My point giving the background is that this cat who was potentially in-hiked his whole life , was cool with the carrier. He walked right in when I opened it and set it out. On the topic of the cat, for comparison he’s 12lbs but really skinny (street cat!) but he’s super long. So yeah, he’s on the larger side of DLH cats and he fits just fine. Well, he fits fine for a short vet trip. I wouldn’t recommend this for flying if you have a cat this big. I believe there’s a rule that they must be able to both stand up and turn around if you’re flying with them. The only thing I don’t like so far is that it comes with spots for a long shoulder strap but one is NOT INCLUDED. It’s like they didn’t include part of the product. I’d like the option to do this hands free, he’s heavy! But alas, there are only hand straps with this carrier. In summary: I feel like this is a nice quality cat carrier that can double as a house or be broken down and stored easily. It fits my larger 12lb cat well but is probably not big enough for airline travel. It only comes with hand straps, the pictured shoulder strap is nowhere to be found which is aggravating since it has the spots for one. ... show more

  • Nice quality expandable pet carrier for small pets!
We have a few cats and some of our carriers are showing signs of wear and tear and we figured it would be nice to get them a new and improved carrier! While this carrier has some interesting bells and whistles not seen over a decade ago, this carrier is a bit on the smaller side so it's meant more for smaller pets like a small cat or kitten or a small dog like a pomeranian or chihuahua. We do like the quality of most of the materials used throughout this carrier! The exterior fabric feels very durable and scratch resistant. The zippers have button closures to ensure nothing gets unzipped easily. The fleece padding material is nice and soft and comfortable for the pet. And there's plenty of mesh all around this carrier for ventilation when the sides are expanded. The shoulder straps are also lightly padded for comfort. This carrier is also made for air travel and you can loop this through a luggage handle and rest this carrier on the top of your rolling luggage. There is one small pocket on the non-expandable side of this carrier which is convenient for storing something light like a pet snack or wet wipes. Now for the bells and whistles part. This carrier can expand which none of our old carriers have ever been able to do and it seems like a new and improved feature in a lot of new carriers nowadays. But unless you have the sides expanded, this carrier feels very small, and the fleece lining that's meant for the floor padding becomes the walls around the interior of this carrier and that limits the ventilation to just the top of the carrier. The centre part of the fleece padded lining has a zipper where an MDF board can be removed so that the lining can be washed. But we wish it was a plastic board and not MDF because MDF can absorb urine and other liquid waste in case the pet has an accident in this carrier. We were able to unzip and expand all the sides of this carrier without much issue. There is plenty of ventilation with all of the sides down and the padded lining provide a nice soft cushion on the inside. It also feels much roomier with the sides expanded out. But we struggled with the zippers to zip everything back up. Personally, I wouldn't use this carrier for long distance travel since you wouldn't likely be able to expand the sides of this carrier while travelling. The walls would provide a bit of insulation however if you were to fly your pet in this carrier as a carry on. But for the occasional visit to the vet or to a groomer, this carrier isn't as practical for us as our typical carrier since we wouldn't be able to collapse all the sides down in the car and the interior space of this carrier is a little bit too small for our cats. Overall, we still think this is a really nice quality carrier. We do recommend this for people who have smaller pets. And if they can take advantage of the expandable walls for their needs, this would be a great pet carrier for them! ... show more
