What Cat8 cables do (both Lan and HDMI) are for future-proof compatibility. Some reviews here suggest that many people bought these cables actually thinking that the cables would "speed up" their bandwidth. No. That's not what their purpose was for. These should produce no more speeds that a Cat6. The vendor never otherwise. The vendor stated: "Support bandwidth up to 2000MHz and transmitting data at speeds of up to 40Gbps." *** Supports, not adds. *** Right now no one is producing 40Gbps or the like. These cables (anything Cat8) are for having future-proof capacity in advance of newer technology not yet here, but coming. Yet, somehow, some people thought buying these cables would enhance their bandwidth speeds and unfairly ridiculed these cables for not "speeding up" their Lan throughput. That's just silly. Some people simply don't understand what they're saying and their expectations are way off. Now, a few people said that these cables actually "slowed down" their speeds, which could simply be because they got a bad set of cables. Technology always has occasional hits and misses with anything. If one finds that their cables are underperforming, have the seller replace them and then next set will likely be much better. But Cat5e, 6, 6e, 7e, and yes Cat8, are only going to transmit what they're receiving. For most people, the speeds will be about the same. That's what is to be expected, of course.

I upgraded to two of these 3 foot Cat 8s from my old Cat 5 cables for my router and media server. My cat 5s were old and unshielded. I was getting a lot of weird behavior(s) from my wifi and media server, but from nothing else so I knew it was the cables for whatever reason. and after plugging these in I was surprised by a few things. The weird behavior I had been getting ceased which may be due to being shielded ???, but an unexpected thing happened and now I am finally able to get wifi signal in the one dead spot in my house which I didn't think cables would fix/change. I have never gotten more than one bar of signal on any device prior to using these in that area so I am certain it's because of the cables. I am now getting 4 bars on the three devices I tried in that area, so whether it's the cables or sheilding or both I don't know or care, but that was a great unexpected surprise. My media server now is also responding very quickly. WIth my Cat 5s it would always take about 15-30 seconds to be discovered in the app I use to access it and any media played would lag a bit at first, but now when I hit the media server app it appears as soon as the app loads and the media itself starts right up with no lags. So all in all the cables seem solid, the 2 pack was reasonably priced and I actually have noticed improvements. The wifi improvement alone in the dead zone was an unexpected bonus.

I bought a couple shorter Glanis cables due to glowing reviews and my own results. I really wanted to like this 100 ft Glanis cable. I really did. Had high hopes for it. I needed 75 ft plus so I ordered the 100. I understand that 100 ft is currently max for Cat 8 cable length. I went from my Windstream Modem/ Dual Band Router to my Tri-Band Router. Wifi is shut off. No change at all and if anything a hair slower than my cheap old Cat 5E 75 ft cable with 24 gauge wire. I can't condemn the Glanis cable yet as more than this cable is the sum total of my network. I did order a 75 ft Cat 8 Cable from another supplier to try. There were no apparent cuts kinks or other visible damage to this cable and it was simply unrolled thru the house temporarily. Both ends on equipment were checked for fuzz or dirt. Nothing. Plugs were plugged in a couple times to confirm good connection. My internet is Windstream DSL 100 max w a typical 77mb download rate. OLD CABLE 77.7....NEW CABLE 77.5 TO 77.6. One more thing. GLANIS cable seemed a bit thinner than my old 24 ga Cat 5E cable. I just want a cable that works that I can stick in a damp crawl space and doesn't drag my system down. I have no ax to grind with anybody. I have NOT contacted support as I saw nothing visibly wrong with this cable.

Pros: Thick Cable. Sturdy "crimping" job for the port. No exposed wiring. Great throughput.. Cons: None. The cable performs as described and meets its status quote speed(s). NOTE: The speeds reported WILL vary depending on your location, device setup, network provider, and location. So, for customers browsing the responses that read, "this cable is bad, etc. etc." consider the factors mentioned above. Quick example: Top of the line gamer enthusiast with prime income has a 200 Mbps connection (let's joke and say it's 1 gig...maybe Fiber Optic Service provided by Verizon or some other provider) and in the other corner, a game enthusiast with a lower income that gets a 40 Mbps connection. Depending on that equipment, i.e. the port(s) on she/her/hers or he/his/him's router and motherboard AND the connection speed, there's a lot going on there. Suffice to say it's a great cable.

I would say this is the best value around for the price and quality. Get two instead of one for the same price and value! Why not to get it? Connect your modem to your router with this cable for the best speed that modem can provide up to 10 GBp per second connection without lost any packet or bottlenecking anything. Great idea for 1 Gbps Comcast, xfinity, Verizon or google fiber internet because cat5e-cat6 might bottleneck and slowdown over the noise in the frequency while this cable even with the noise will deliver solid maxed out experience out of your 1 Gbps modem. Highly recommend this unbeatable deal for 2x cable for amazingly cheap price and quality of the product! Get it while you can before price is raised and replaced your cat5e or cat6 with this for the maximum data transfer on your modem and router.
