This is a product of Thailand it has the beautiful finish that you would expect from a quality piece of furniture. I will talk about three things: 1. Style 2. Construction 3. Practicality. 1. Style: this product get an A++ for style. I love the finish but the fact that they are tall enough to be used as a Buffet table or credenza was kind of nice. It has a big top on the very top and I use it to display pictures and Knick knacks. I am currently using one of them as a sofa table. It gives me and my guests another area to put stuff down on. 2. Construction - construction was a breeze. Unlike their Chinese counterparts the directions were easy to read and follow along. I’m glad I followed the step by step directions. All the hardware seemed sturdy and strong. None of the bolts or acres stripped out and I used hand tools and power tools but cautiously. Over tightening is a bad thing too! All in all it took me about 30 minutes to Adele l - not bad. 3. Practicality - I have a chocolate lab that weighs 85 lbs and the xl kennel had plenty of room. Plus he had lots of headroom to stand up and move around. The only thing left is finding a memory foam pad for him and he will love it. The two large doors on the kennel were another factor. Easy entrance and egress. I also like the wooden slats design. It keeps him safe but allows him to see around him. The only thing I didn’t agree with was that they touted to be end table height, which actually they were sofa table height which I liked better. Not to mention the different color choices. Great product and great price point!

This crate is a great value. It looks exactly as shown in the pictures online, goes together very easily, the instructions and hardware were all without issue. The crate is mostly real wood (other than the 1/4" ply or mdf panels along the bottom), probably pine or rubberwood as it is made in Thailand. I didn't notice any flaws in the stain / poly coating. If you have a dog that is not crate trained and relaxed don't get it. It isn't poorly made, it isn't a doggy jail though. If a dog really wants out, they will get out. If you have concerns about this, get a standard metal mesh crate and use that, until your dog is good with it. If you use your crate to kennel the dog any time you aren't home, this is the wrong crate for your use. I was initially going to build a custom crate and stain it to match our furniture. I was looking around at lots of furniture style crates online when I came across this one. The stain was very close to the rest of our bedroom set, it was real wood, and the price $205 with tax and free delivery. That was worth the role of the dice to see if it was decent. I'd have spent more than 200 bucks easily in wood, glue, fasteners, and stain / poly to make a similar crate. The one I'd made might have been more sturdy and 100% matched the stain of our bedroom furniture. This crate was a 95% match though, saved me a bit of money, and probably a full day plus of work to build and finish a custom crate. I'm happy I bought this crate. It is a great product at an excellent price point. My 85lb Rhodesian Ridgeback is enjoying it and that makes me happy.

Kind of long, but he's my impression, after buying two of these: Basically I'm happy with this purchase, EXCEPT FOR THE DAMAGE ON ONE FROM THE FACTORY. Barely a week in and one dog just stretched out in the damaged crate, and the end inside split and broke out. (See remarks on damage found at unpacking, below.) I can repair it with an L bracket, but I shouldn't have to. This product is easy for an old lady to assemble in under an hour following directions. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. I recommend an electric driver to save your hands and wrists. Go slowly and make sure to sink all 24 screws on the L-brackets tightly the first time through to reduce wobble in the finished table. Overall it's a good design, came very well packaged, and was easy to assemble. The price was good. I needed two, so I was happy to find these at a price I could afford. But you get what you pay for, as they say. The materials look as pictured in the listing. However I'm a bit disappointed in the materials, especially the side panels, which are made from 1/4" rather cheap, flimsy plywood. One of my panels arrived with damage on the inside of the box, which means it had to happen in factory during production, so quality control and pride of workmanship do not exist at this manufacturer. The damage is in the inside of the crate, so maybe they thought the dog won't care, but I do. See pictures to see what I mean. I almost gave a 3 star rating because of these things. The latches are cute, and the tables look good with my big couches. These are the large. One for my 95 lb. Doberman and one for my 65 lb. Boxer. As you can see in the pictures, they like the crates, which is what I'd hoped for. I want them to share our space, but not be underfoot. I wouldn't recommend this for dogs that aren't already happy crate trained. Mine could easily break out if they wanted, and they're old. Keep in mind I've only had them set up for an hour, and haven't left the dogs confined at all yet but I'm not anticipating any issues. If they do break out, I'll edit this review. Amazon first promised I'd get them on a Monday, then said they shipped early and would arrive the preceding Friday. That made me happy. I tracked and it arrived 12 miles away on Friday morning, but i didn't get a late delivery notice till after 9 pm Friday night. And they didn't go out for delivery till Monday, which I guess is technically on time, but I was still disappointed. I blame this more on the carrier than Amazon or the shipper. I am pretty happy with these, but I'd probably look for a bit better quality materials next time around.

I bought these (a large and a small) a while back but just recently assembled & started using them. They're nicely sized. The large one is where my Pit Bull sleeps at night. There's more than enough room for her to walk into it normally (no ducking or back-swaying) She can't stand normally inside it, turn around freely and sleep comfortably. The small one is shared by my 2 small lap dogs. They're old (about 15 years old) so they're not active or hyper, they don't jump all over each other. One sleeps towards the back of the table/crate and the other sleeps in the front by the door. My dogs have been crate trained for many years now so crating at night isn't new to them. It's their "normal", it's what they're used to. These tables just eliminated the big clunky wire crates (that my sensitive skinned Pit Bull would use to rub her back on until it bled.) Now they still get crated but their "crates" are also tables that can be used for all sorts of things. Below I will list pros/cons: Pros: • It's a table dog crate. It's genius! • Not an eyesore like most standard "dog crates" • Perfect for dog owners who crate their dog(s) and don't have a lot of room/space. Since the crate is a table, you get a product that has multiple uses. • The tables are sturdy. Cons: If you're like me and have dogs who have been crate trained for a long time, these tables will be an adjustment. Used to just have to holler out "Beds!" And my dogs would run to their crates & get in. They seem to be slightly confused by the tables being "beds". Lol, but they learn fast. SIDE NOTE: I would not recommend these to animal owners whose pets are not at all familiar with crates or completely crate trained. I would not use these to start crate training a puppy or an animal that has "accidents" regularly inside the house. Simply because when beginning to crate train for the first time, especially with puppies/young dogs, accidents are bound to happen. These tables are exactly that: tables. A large amount of urine or a pee puddle that isn't cleaned up IMMEDIATELY would probably warp/ruin the floor of the table crate. Regular dog crates are usually either hard plastic or metal wire with a plastic bottom, which aren't affected by accidents/getting wet. Since my dogs are older and have been crate trained for years, this wasn't a concern or issue for myself. Also, because of that, I haven't looked into liners or plastic trays that could fit the area inside the crate table. If you could find something like that, that would fit the entire area, accidents wouldn't be too damaging. But it would need to fit snuggly, side to side-back to front, with no spaces. :::Above is my own personal opinions on the product. I purchased, assembled and use the product. I did not receive this product/crate table for free and I did not receive it at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. I have shared my personal opinions, experience and ideas to help potential buyers decide whether or not the tables would work for their animal/situation. I hope my review has been helpful.

update- forgot your mention that the door has no way of staying open. I have the crates on the side of the bed to give the dogs an option to go in their crate or sleep on the bed. I used the crates mostly as a little security home for them rather than locking them up in the crate. So know that the only way to keep door open is to wedge some cardboard by the door hinge. This may not be a problem for most, but wanted to mention. Arrived fast. Easy to put together. Just need a good Phillips head screw driver. There are predrilled holes. The process would have been even quicker if I was stronger and had a better screwdriver. Only took about 30 mins to assemble. Cutting and getting rid of the cardboard boxes was mire of a pain. These look great. Really well made. Nice dark expresso color in softly lit room. However, if in direct sunlight, it appears reddish cherry color. Not that you would want to have this or your dog in direct sunlight but thought it was work mentioning. Another reason you don’t want this is direct sunlight or near a heater is the Formaldehyde warning on the bottom of the crate. Not good at all. My dogs are older, they are well behaved and not chewers. They will probably only use the crate once in while. Mostly they sleep on the bed or couch, and are free to roam when I am not home. But if you have a puppy or chewer, I would not recommend and return due to the formaldehyde warning. The crate a tad smaller than the wire crates I had. I ordered two of these for my dogs (10 -12 pound yorkie and Morkie). They look really nice. They are sturdy and well made. There are adjustable knobs on the bottom in case your floors are not level. I would recommend placing a rug underneath. I have hardwood floors and the crate slides around on them. The latch is a little tricky to get used to, but works. All in all I am happy with the purchase for the price. Not happy with the formaldehyde warning so minus 2 stars.

We purchased the large size for our two smaller dogs who share a crate. We love the look of this versus the wire crate we’ve had for years. It really is a piece of nice looking furniture. Assembly was easy, doing it by yourself shouldn’t be an issue but having a an extra set of hands was nice. One of our pups is an avid chewer and we knew she’d make easy work of this wooden crate so we decided to make it “unchewable”. From our local hardware store we purchased 1/4 inch hardware cloth, 10’ x 2’ was perfect for the large crate- we only had to cut the length, height was perfect, and #8 x 1/2” screws. The #8 size head fit perfectly with overlap of the 1/4” opening, although a smaller head screw would work with washers and the 1/2” length was the just right for screwing into the thicker edge pieces. We measured, cut and installed it during assembly but it can be done afterwards you’ll just have to spend some time in the crate lol I’ve seen other recommendations for using plexiglass but I feel the hardware cloth is a little more straightforward. Just be sure to drill pilot holes for each screw and wear gloves as the medal can be very sharp. Overall we love the difference this piece makes in our living room, it’s practical, functional and aesthetically pleasing. An added bonus is out cats love using it as a perch to look out the window lol Only “issue” I have, and it’s not worth taking a star away, is the hinge type is a little lacking. It is a peg system on the top and bottom of the door and crate. It doesn’t allow for enough clearance on the bottom when opening and closing so the door rubs. We alleviate that by lifting slightly when using it and plan to add a handle to the door to make this easier. We plan to also add an anti fatigue mat to the bottom for comfort and to help silence the sounds of them moving around or chew toys being played with. I definitely recommend this. We’ve only had it a few weeks so time will tell about longevity but for now we are quite pleased with it.

After completing some remodeling, the plastic kennel in my dining room looked ugly so I ordered this as a more attractive alternative. I absolutely love it! It's good looking and solid. The dogs like it too. The funny thing is as soon as I had it assembled and put the blanket in it, the dogs started going in it on their own. It's very comfortable for the dog because the floor is smooth and raised off the ground a little bit, the side panels are solid on the bottom which gives some privacy and a den like feel. I leave the door open and they go in on their own and nap all the time. It feels sturdy and can function as an end table. I've seen some reviews where people are mad because their dog chewed it or broke the door and I do think people need to realize that most dogs will chew on wood and the door won't stand up to pawing and prying from a dog that doesn't want to be in there -this is a piece of furniture and needs to be treated as furniture. It can function as a crate but it's not going to be a substitute for a wire or hard crate to contain a dog that wants out. I would not use any furniture crate for a puppy or rambunctious dog, or for use when you leave the house for very long unless it's a mature, mellow dog that is contented to be in there. Mine mostly functions as a dog bed and I feed my little guy in there so that the other dogs don't try to steal from him. I can shut the door and hold a dog in there if for example somebody comes to the door or I'm mopping or mowing or doing something I don't want them in the middle of. In short, there is a difference in how you should expect to use a furniture crate vs a hard crate. This suits the need and it's really nice looking in the room. One word about pricing- I like this so much, I wanted to order another one or two more for bedrooms but the price has now tripled on the walnut color. I would pay a hundred dollars again but as much as I like it it's absolutely not worth three hundred so watch the price on these as they tend to fluctuate

Update: despite the fact that my dog is crate trained and does like the crate, someone came to visit that he was excited to see and he literally just busted right through the doors. Whereas the whole crate is vulnerable to a chewer and OK for a crate-happy dog, the doors are definitely an issue. They are simply NOT strong. He now knows he can use his weight on the doors any time he does want to get out. We are considering some stronger hinges and bolts to see if that makes the doors less vulnerable, but as designed they are not going to contain any dog that seriously wants out. If you have a dog that gets distressed in the crate or is a chewer, this absolutely WILL NOT WORK. It does look good (very good in fact) but is NOT sturdy and a determined dog would make short work of busting out of it. That said, I got the XL for my flatcoated retriever (80 lbs), who is very good in his crate and he loves it. There is plenty of room (I got it to replace his "travel-type" plastic crate, which he had outgrown) and he settles down in it well. However, occasionally he gets impatient and scratches at the door and I can see that if he was really determined he could easily break out. Even as good as he is in the crate I would probably not leave him alone in it for any length of time unless I was OK with coming home and finding it broken. As far as assembly is concerned, it was very straightforward. The instructions are clear and you aren't asked to do anything tricky. You are basically just putting the sections together. My husband and I are hopeless at putting things together and we did it in under 1/2 hour. You don't get any "extras" with the fittings, so don't lose any. In particular DON'T LOSE ONE OF THE SPRINGS because if you do, you will not be able to assemble the doors. A couple of extra springs would have been nice because, yes, we lost one and had to get creative on fixing one of the doors in. We tried to second guess the instructions and the result was a lost spring. I would say if you do exactly what the instructions say you should find it easy enough. In short: looks good, easy to assemble, fine for a crate-happy dog, not at all suitable for a dog that gets stressed in a crate and unless your dog is a REALLY mellow crate occupant, you might not want to leave them in it unattended and/or for long periods.
