Significantly thinner than it used to be for same ridiculous price. The worn out and compressed one I bought over 2 years ago is still thicker than this one new. States 2 inches thick but seems more like 1 inch.

i have had all the vertabrae of my neck fused and due to spinal problems have to sleep on my side. I cant use a fluffy pillow that arcs my neck. i needed a flat pillow with some softness in it. i dithered over buying this due to cost but this works. its heavy. standard memory foam with i think a soft layer of something else. it doesnt pancake out over the night. maintains its form. isnt hot. havent noticed any problems sleeping with it which is a good thing. no smell out of the box. my only complaint is that its pricey. all caspars pillows are but they are all such nice pillows. i have the fluffier ones to surround me and hold my spine in place. i love them all, very rich feeling. ... show more

I've spent years trying to find a pillow that works for me for both side and back sleeping as I alternate all night. This is the best I've found. I'm a man with slightly wider shoulders so I need something fairly stiff for side sleeping, while not being a brick for back sleeping. I love the density/firmness of this pillow. Just right IMO but I HATE that they no longer offer the higher loft of this pillow. It just too thin for side sleepers (plus it looks anemic in a pillowcase). Don’t be fooled by the 5.5in measurement. It might be that high at center but tapers to about 2in on the sides, where side sleepers need the support to maintain alignment and avoid neck and shoulder pain. Truthfully, even the high loft that they no longer offer is a little borderline. I’d like this pillow to taper to about 4in on the sides for side sleeping. I also have a Sleepys Signature Gel Pillow. The pillow feels cheap. While the form is pretty dense, the form is pretty squishy almost rubbery like. I was looking for a low loft pillow and tried it out at a Casper retail before getting it. I was told the more expensive ones are not that much different than this one so that is why I got it. I never slept hot and I have used different pillows before and this is the first time I can say I was sleeping hot. I experienced some neck pain, but not too bad compared to other pillows, but this pillow definitely should not cost anyone 80 dollars especially coming out of China. ... show more
