Description

From G-SHOCK, the watch that always strives for toughness, the first G-STEEL lineup models to offer chronograph performance in analog format. Thought all the dials of these models are analog, they still boast G-SHOCK level shock resistance. The dial at 9 o'clock has a multi-functional rotating disk that is cut to resemble the thick blades of a jet engine. Rotation of the blades reveals red coloring behind the disk, and this change in color is used to indicate the battery level and the alarm on/off setting. The blades also rotate in the Timekeeping and Stopwatch modes to with the passage of time. A new layer guard structure houses resin cushioning parts inside the case, for a more elegant design and a better fit to the wrist. High density mounting technology makes it possible to create a module that is smaller and thinner, which also contributes to a better fit. These watches are equipped with Bluetooth that lets them connect with a smartphone at the press of a button, and acquire time information from an internet time server. The result is accurate timekeeping no matter where in the world you happen to be. Other functions include Tough Solar in combination with CASIO original power saving technology for a stable supply of power, high brightness LED light illumination, and dual dial World Time.

  • A beautiful metal beast - just give me more alarms and more numerals
It's beautiful. A solid, heavy chunk of metal with a pleasing aesthetic. I wish they would make an analog watch face with numerals. I also wish that the watch had more than one alarm. Unlike some of the reviewers of this class of watch, I only find the Android app slightly annoying.

  • Nice and heavy watch
Great heavy watch

  • Read before buying! You may want to buy another lol!
Ok so I’m gonna come back to this review in a month. Day one owning the watch I love it, I was able to download the Casio app and connect it immediately. It’s expensive however being able to automatically adjust to atomic time is really nice. And able to Set everything from your phone is pretty awesome. It’ really nice quality metal, very easy to adjust the bracelet with spring loaded pins unlike normal watches where they press out I was able to adjust in seconds compared to 10 minutes adjusting my other watches which isn’t a big deal but I digress very nice. It’s a decent size watch, the face is not really big, not super small, to me it’s perfect. But it is preference. I love heavier watches and this isn’t as heavy as I thought it was gonna be but I’m actually glad cause it’s got some good weight but not heavy. Let’s say you will feel it on your wrist compared to a leather band Fossil watch for instance. —Bracelet/Band- metal. Metal metal metal. It feels smooth on the arm I love it. —Watch face- it’s a chronograph face, no numbers, or Roman numeric but if you wear multiple watches all the time it won’t be any different. —LED light- pretty badass never seen that on a watch before, pretty use fall actually seeing in dark lol — the app- the app is tricky, the find phone does only work if the app is “OPEN” in the background of the phone so that the watch is connected “all the time “ —buttons- the buttons feel nice but I do prefer the feeling of a watch button “popping” signifying you actually did something lol but this feels nice and smooth all the same. —Price- $440 for a watch is allot, if you’re loaded you’re obviously not buying this watch but you got some money and you love watches I feel this would be a well worth it buy for a Everyday watch. —one more thing on the buttons, they are recessed into the rubber bumper, which some people don’t really like. I’ll tell you why I love them, I wear a watch to sleep allot(too much if you ask my wife) and sometimes while I’m sleeping I’ll press the buttons on accident rather bumping them or whatever, and having them into the bumper stops that, also hitting something on your watch you’re allot less likely to hit the button itself. —overall feel- it’s nice. Like I said smooth, got some weight, looks sleek. That’s all I got for now with only having it a day. Star #1-I gave it five stars because what all it comes with what you can do with it. Star #2- For the rugged feel of the watch Star#3-Compared to all of of other $400 watches and more than that, most of them can’t do anything but tell the time lol Star#4-Extremely stylish watch while tough. star#5-the very easy set up and band adjustment that I’ve never seen before, with the pins being spring loaded behind the clasps it makes for very easy movement. To give this watch any less star would be illogical in my opinion, but as I said my opinion could change in the coming time. See for yourself self, and before you leave a review on if something happened with the watch, contact Casio first. Brand new watches like this one came with a warranty through the manufacture so before contacting the seller I would contact them first. Thank you for taking the time to read my review! ... show more

  • Best watch ever although I am so scared to scratch ...
Best watch ever although I am so scared to scratch it! Looks amazing, feels awesome to have on. It takes some getting used to from the rubber style watch bands that stay put though as this slides about. It is also very large and pokes out a bit so can take some getting used to when it rubs into your hand. Got mine adjusted by a jeweler and still not the perfect fit but getting used to it. Definitely a show stopped and has all of the executive functionality I want with an awesome look at a fair price. You seriously get so much watch for this price. Even looking at $7K watches their world clocks and complexities don't function or look as good as this and they also don't have the shock absorbing power, blue tooth, solar power and more. Hope GShock makes this for a long time and eventually goes down in price. I want to buy a second one that I put a more regular band on so it doesn't shift around as much on my wrist. That much weight shifting around can actually kind of hurt the hand, but hey sometimes you have to make sacrifices for beauty. This looks fantastic when I am on stage and on camera for my investor conferences. ... show more

  • A very good watch; not a great watch.
The GST-B100D-1ACR is a good-looking, masculine watch that's a little more upscale than your average G-Shock. The Good: - solar power - easy to read analog hands and date window - LUMED HANDS (I don't know why Casio futzes around when describing this feature; YES there's a LED light and NO there isn't any lume on the dial's metallic pips but YES THE HANDS ARE LUMED, not a Superluminova level of lume but there's LUME) - famous G-Shock durability in steel -- not 100% steel but steely enough - buttons easy to press - awesome design with extra points going to the dial's rotor The Bad: - The G-Shock Connected app (Android 13): Downloaded directly from the Google Play Store, Casio's bluetooth watch app might not work, giving you a confusing "This app cannot be launched because the animation is turned off" error on the Terms of Use screen, which you can't get past unless you fix the problem. Casio's solution is obscure and reddit's problem solving info is dated. -------- For Android 13, you need to go to Settings > System > Developer Options > get carpal tunnel scrolling for Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale, and change these settings from the default 1.0x to 0.5x. Stupid and frustrating. UPDATE APRIL 28, 2023: Casio has a new app called 'Casio Watches' and there was no problems syncing my watch to the app. Unfortunately, the 'manually adjust hands feature' does not work for the fraction-of-a-second alignment needed to get the second hand dead center of the 12 o'clock pip. So once again, good, but not great. The Ugly: - The second hand -- one of the big selling points and function-intensive parts of the watch -- does not completely line up with the 12:00 pip or the other pips. Not a deal breaker, but for a watch in this price range a quality glitch like this shouldn't occur. Note this specific G-Shock has a code ending in CR (made for the US and Americas, Japanese parts, assembled in China). If I knew this was a common problem in this watch, I would have purchased an all-Japanese model, hoping to get one with better quality. Still, despite the quirks, this watch is a looker and easy to use and maintain (after you get the app working :P ). ... show more
