Great Watch! I'm an explorer for the local community fire department and I'm being sent to an explorer academy for a week, and I knew I needed a better watch to replace my cheap and simple one! I owned a G-Shock before but sadly lost it many years ago, but was amazed how durable and well built it was! So when I got my acceptance letter stating that I was going to the explorer academy, first thing I did was I searched up G-Shocks on Amazon! I wanted a simple black model G-Shock that will look presentable/professional during on/off duty, so I browsed and compared models/prices. As I was scrolling, this watch caught my eye, an old friend of mine had the same model and I loved the matte black and the red accents it had inside the watch when I first saw the watch. So of course, I bought the watch, it came with free same-day shipping and a couple hours after buying the watch, it was already on my wrist! I've had the watch now for about a week and I have already recommended my explorer friends about G-Shock and this particular model. Trust me, this watch is worth EVERY DIME! And its not just for this model, it's for every model! There's a reason why many of the firefighters and police officers I know own G-Shock, it's because its durable, it's professional looking, and can withstand extreme conditions! If you guys/gals think this watch is expensive, IT'S NOT! It's a great quality watch at a great price and if you want to buy a watch the will last you many years, G-Shock is the watch to go! Since G-Shock is considered the official "unofficial" watch of the Navy SEALS, isn't that enough to convince you that this watch is extremely reliable? If you are still unconvinced about buying a G-Shock watch, than I suggest to watch "G-Shock Torture Tests" on YouTube (also on the G-Shock Website under Technology).     • Great , comes with all that you will NEED in a watch
Great watch , one of the ONLY Casio watches that allows you to select and modify the SECONDS in the COUNTDOWN timer, the rest only let you select the minutes (to say the smallest count down timer time you can have is 1 minute on other Casios- whereas in this watch you can modify it to be more specific like 1 min 23 seconds if you wish - in my JOB it is really important, i work in a LAB) nice practically blacked out watch , love the look One CON (Maby BIG to some) - well from what i have noticed you can NOT EDIT ANYTHING IN THE DARK, if there is no light and you need to set an alarm, its impossible , don't know why but you can have the backlight on while you're in edit mode Just for those who care - the number on the watch wrist is 3230 not the 1289 as in the picture guess the 1289 is a older model GOT - timmer (specific countdown timer editable to the second - really a must have for me ) Alarm - everyday , monthly or specific date stopwatch - standard stopwatch , with ability to split the time laps Negative Display - Hard to see from angles (which is the idea - its military style) impossible to see in the dark without the backlighting (again as its supposed to) Display - shows time (AM/PM or 24 Hours - depending what u want) day of the week and date (day/month) the three circular dials are counting down the seconds (1st 2 countdown seconds, the last -3rd- counts down every 10 seconds) Size - i guess is rather small for a casio , (what i like) its shock proof weather proof PREFECT for everyday use Over all build is great , all you really need in a watch - it says battery should last 2 years (some people like some dont - its up 2 you - i like) Price is great for what it is ... show more

About four years ago I bought a DW6900MS1. I wondered before it arrived and effortlessly claimed it's place in my mind as my favorite watch in 15 years how I'd feel about the negative display as far as practicality and legibility were concerned. I can now say that as long as these watches are made, I will buy them. It's a bold, yet somehow low key watch that really is pretty rare to see as you make your way through the world. In the years I had my first watch, I hiked on the AT many times, swam in Long Lake to some pretty significant depths, camped in the snow, caught fish and swam in a 30° Pacific Ocean off and on for over a week, worked on job sights with friends in downpours, shot all day in 100° weather, sat in on countless bonfires that had me chopping firewood for hours each time, and even survived my Pit/Lab's teething phase. My 6900 took a grueling barrage of abuse and never showed any signs of yielding. Recently though I noticed after all of that, my light button began sticking and no amount of surface level working on it changes that. After everything though, that was the only problem it ever developed. Incredible. I ordered another to replace the veteran and it arrived in like half the time quoted. I shower, work, and work out with these watches on all day, every day. No leaks and I've never even needed to change a battery. The large pane of glass gathers plenty of light making the display easy to read in most settings. That said, if you need the backlight, it's not so bright that it ruins your night vision but is bright enough to see even in the afternoon as the sun is setting. In closing, it's an amazing watch that should serve you well for years. ... show more

I love the function and ease of use. I like the big light button, easy to find in the dark. It is very comfortable. The face is a little dark and hard to read in certain lights on this model but not a deal breaker for me. It is tough and does not scratch easy if you hit it on something.
