  • Overcame the defective calendar. *Final Update 3/12/15
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
This watch is built dirt-cheap. I expected that much from a $18 watch. I was still disappointed, because I was under the impression Casio was above this. Honestly, if it broke before the month is over, it would not surprise me any. While I didn't like the cheap build, I'm not gonna lie, I really liked the look of this watch, especially considering the price. It is also the easiest of the analog watches to tell time. I did come close to giving this watch a one star. After I had already placed the order for the watch, I noticed some one star reviews noting the defective calendar dial. I didn't worry much, considering how few one star reviews this watch actually had on Amazon. I got mine delivered just today, and indeed, my 'day' setting was stuck & would not move. As I set everything else, I kept playing with it. Turning the crown slow, fast, slow while pressuring the crown in-out-up-down, you get the idea. Behold, it did start to show some movement, so I kept playing with it. After I spun that crown couple hundred times or so, really fast, the dial became unstuck. It is functioning perfectly now. P.S. Watch I received is "JAPAN MOV'T", "CASED IN CHINA". ***UPDATE*** 2/8/13 I really like this watch. It is the cheapest watch I own, but I wear this one almost everyday. It has performed perfectly, and it has been highly accurate as well. I got it in September, it's February now. If it's still this good next September, I'm gonna have to give it five stars. ***UPDATE2*** 9/27/13 As promised, I'm bumping it from 3 to 5 stars. Not that I've put it thru a torture test, but it has performed perfectly as a daily wear watch thru some exposure to water(never submerged though), and plenty of tossing & bumping around. I got more than my money's worth. ***UPDATE3*** 12/8/14 Still performing perfectly, even after 2+ years. Keeps very accurate time, too. My first impression of this watch was dead wrong. ***FINAL UPDATE*** 3/12/15 I originally purchased this watch knowing that its design borrowed heavily from the Luminox Navy SEAL watch. I finally bought that Luminox couple of months ago when I misplaced this Casio. I've found the Casio since, but I no longer wear it for obvious reasons, so this would be the last update of my review. I guess I used this watch for nearly 2.5 years, and other than the defective calendar dial I wrestled with at the start, it's been 100% problem free. Even the band/strap's still in perfect shape, and is powered by the original battery it came with. Well done, Casio. :) ... show more

  • Inexpensive, but far from cheap.
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
I bought this thinking it would just be a cheap, disposable watch I could wear out or throw away without any regrets. But after a 60-day trip to the wild, it kept perfect time, didn't break, and survived being submerged in water. It’s absolutely flawless. I’m not someone who pays for a brand name; in fact, I have a pathological dislike for flashy, show-off items and prefer living with practical, affordable things. Sometimes, when I buy a product that performs way above its price tag like this, I find myself praising it as if it were a person: "Hey buddy, who made you? You did great." ... show more

  • It’s great!
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
Attractive watch at a good price. I use it in place of my AppleWatch when I go swimming. Very light and comfortable to wear. Note that the day and date functions are not automatic, so the day and date may need to be manually reset some months.

  • Cheap But Accurate
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
I needed an inexpensive watch for a road trip that would give me the day and date and allow me to add a small compass to the band. Having had several Casio watches in the past I looked at that brand first. At first, I ignored this watch, because it was so inexpensive that I figured it couldn’t be worth anything. However, after looking at several more expensive versions I returned to look at the reviews on this watch. There were enough good things said about this watch that I decided to buy it. I figured that for the price of a few gallons of gas if it only lasted a month it would have met the requirement that I had for it. I got it several days ago and set it up immediately. Like several other reviewers have indicated, getting the day and date to change is a bit of a challenge initially. I resolved that by winding the minute hand past the point where I saw the date change and then continued to move that hand to after 5 AM. It was very easy to set the date and day at that point. Once I had it set up, I set the time using the Verizon time on my iPhone. I set the hour; the minute; and the second. Four days later the watch has not lost or gained a second. So it gets an A+ for accuracy. This watch is not a rugged watch but it appears that it will hold up to getting wet in rain or from perspiration and it will probably work pretty well in the humid environments. The numbers and markings on the face are very easy to see in the daytime. However, there are no luminous features on the markings so seeing it at night requires a light source. The battery claims it will work for five years in this watch. I doubt that I will be back to confirm that. The only negative comment I have is that this watch is made in the land of the Great Wall and surveillance balloons. I can’t understand why a company like Casio can’t come up with manufacturing locations in central and South America. *UPDATE* 8/4/24 - I have had this watch for a week and I am amazed. Either Verizon uses this watch to run their system clock, or this watch is tethered to my iPhone’s clock, or this watch has perfect time… Whatever it is, the watch has not lost or gained one second since I set it a week ago. For just over $20, even if it breaks down in a year, it is worth it for an outdoor or work watch. I would not hesitate to buy one again. *UPDATE* 12/18/24 Okay, here is an update that I really never figured I would make. This watch is as good, if not better, than my old Casios that crapped out after years of Army living in the field or my dress watches made by Seiko (the official timepiece of the Vietnam War). Other than the lack of luminous face features this watch is fantastic. It got a pretty good workout on the extended trip that I bought it for. It survived several soakings, jarring and long periods of extreme vibrations. The mechanical functions are still tight and the time is incredibly accurate, losing only a few seconds per month. So my advice is go ahead and buy one. If anyone from Casio is reading this I would suggest adding small tritium capsules at each hour on the face and tritium on the three hands, jack up the price a bit and sell it. It would be a great watch. ... show more

  • Waterproof and tells the time. All you need
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
Needed a watch for my son’s life guard job. It water proof, tells the time and much cheaper than a Rolex. No complaints here.

  • value
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
For the money this watch is an excellent value. It is better than what you often get for many times the price. I started wearing Casio because by job is hard on watches. I have broken every expensive watch I have owned. Casio G-Shocks I own have lasted a decade + and what always breaks is the band which are often hard to find replacements and costly. I really only need time and date and not the extra gadgetry so this watch is a perfect solution. The band is simple to replace with a variety of options at different prices that are readily available. It is a very attractive watch and is easy to read. My wrists are on the smaller side and it wears well. The only potential negative I see is that the bezel is flush with the crystal and offers no protection. I would love to see Casio make this with a taller bezel, solar and a backlight. It is light and comfortable. I cannot speak on the durability yet but If you are on the fence just buy one. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Budget watch with some shortcomings
Color: Standard Style: MRW-200H-1BV
The price is great on this watch, but one should be aware of what you’re getting for 20-something bucks. First off, it is labeled as “WATER RESIST - 100M”. No way in the world could this watch “resist” 330 feet of pressure! Doubt if it could survive 33 INCHES, as the crown is not sealed well and does not screw down (which greatly improves water resistance). So don’t rely on it being waterproof. 2) The crown is very small in height & diameter, and there are two resin “ears” protecting it; this makes it difficult to set the time, day or date as the crown is somewhat hard to grasp & turn. This is especially troublesome if you have large fingers. 3) While the bezel does rotate smoothly, be aware that there are no “clicks” to securely hood it in place, and the bezel is not unidirectional and do can turn either way. Does this make it a “bad” watch? No, but I’d say it’s a swell $25 watch! The pluses are: 1) a very legible dial with large numerals, 2) a large and clearly visible day & date display (a very big plus as so many watches have tiny day-date displays, even much higher priced ones), 3) luminous hands (another surprise in such an inexpensive watch!) and 4) it’s very light in weight. Overall, it’s well-worth the money and far outshines many watches in the $25-$50 price range. UPDATE: I eventually swapped out the stiff resin watch band for a silicone one. I chose a funky orange color, to make the watch a bit less chintzy looking and more fun to look at. It makes the watch much more comfortable to wear. I still do like this Casio, it’s a superb watch if your hands are deep in an engine bay poking around! ... show more

Great quality item. Super value. Do your research online but it is actually used by the crew of a NASA research plane.
