  • The best ever. Buy now. Now.
I bought this watch in August, 2019 and wore it daily until today. It never ever skipped a beat. I love this watch for all the reasons written in other reviews. But, I killed the start stop button and now cannot reset it to standard time. Over the summer I was doing some painting with a harsh paint over rust paint that is infamously messy and very persistent. I accidentally soaked the watch in it, as a result of paint dripping on it and was unable to get it out of the buttons. So today, I ordered a replacement - an a158 because the 168 is on backorder. Love the price, simplicity, reliability and sisu-level toughness of this awesome watch. ... show more

  • well made and just works
Why did you pick this product vs others?: i love the old school Casio watches - well made, waterproof, display lit well when needed, looks great to my liking, a lot better than the hyped up watches. It's affordable such that when the battery dies i'd just get a new one. love it. Fit: great range of adjustability Watch quality: top notch. Functionality: display lit up well. alarm is easy to set. Accuracy: can't beat digital watch accuracy for sure ... show more

  • Finally a classic that is solid
Yes, the style is a classic. But, this is just a great watch. Not bulky, no nonsense. Just a great watch. Yes, it is 2026, and this style is from back then. But, back then, things actually worked. I hope this watch will continue where the old models started. I highly recommend this watch!

  • Great Watch
There is just something so satisfying about this watch, I totally love it. The dimensions are perfect. It's the perfect combo of cheesy retro, low cost minimalist, while also somehow being classy and appropriate for any outfit and situation. It is very light and comfortable. The band is really thin and surprisingly nice quality. I have very hairy arms and was a little concerned with the band pulling hairs -- it does a little bit, but not too much, not enough for it to be an issue. For $20 on black Friday, It costs about as much as a meal at Chipotle... insane value. One minor drawback if I had to list one is that the display isn't fully legible at every angle. Again, not enough to really be an issue. You can still read the time but depending on the angle the numbers may not be as sharp. Overall, unbeatable value and price to enjoyment/satisfaction ratio. ... show more

  • Great Retro at 80's pricing
I have recently started getting into watches. I have been working on building my collection. This watch falls into my nostalgia sub-collection. It's a nice throw back to the watches I remember growing up. I wanted a watch I could time my practices with and use my phone just for recording sessions. Its a light watch and fits comfortably on my wrist. I believe my wrist is slightly below average size so this may be a bit small for some. All the functions work properly, though the split stopwatch can be tricky, read the instructions and your fine. The band is extremely lightweight and not what you would find on a bracelet from a more expensive watch like a Seiko. The bracelet did snag a few hairs that first week but is fine now. Someone more fortified against the elements with hair, may be in for a rough time. I don't expose this watch to the elements and based on the build I would recommend others don't either. It's been my daily for the last few weeks at the office and has done great. Every once and a while I will bump the button and switch the mode, but the beep lets me know and I can quickly go back to the time keeping mode. I really enjoy this watch and so far have not had any issues. That said, I did assist someone on reddit that was having an issue and advised them to send it back for a replacement. The person would press the light button and it would change the time mode between 12/24 hours. It looks like Casio has a pretty solid support network and its Amazon so returns should be easy. I intend on getting a few more of these Casio's to fill out the genre: + AE1200WHD-1A + F91W-1 + CA53W-1 + DBC611G-1D TL:DR Great watch, Better Price - 80's Feels ... show more

  • Timeless Piece
I've been wearing the Casio A168WA‑1 for a few weeks now, and it’s a solid pick if you're looking for a nostalgic, budget-friendly digital watch. Its retro styling, complete with chromed bezel and black resin strap, evokes that classic 80s vibe—great if you're aiming for a vintage aesthetic. The stainless steel casing feels surprisingly sturdy and lightweight, making it comfortable for daily wear. The adjustable resin strap fits most wrists well, though on larger wrists it can look a tad undersized. The iconic amber backlight does its job, although it's not as bright or long-lasting as modern LED lights — adequate for checking the time in dimly lit environments, but nothing to write home about. Functionality-wise, it covers all the basics: timekeeping, hourly chime, stopwatch, and an alarm. The watch keeps decent time—Casio rates it at ±30 seconds per month, and that's about where it's landed in my hands. A real plus is the long battery life; mine’s gone strong for well over two years so far. That said, it’s not without its downsides. The small display font takes some getting used to, especially for quick glances. And the light button feels a bit too flat and stiff—pressing it isn’t always intuitive, especially if you're in a hurry. Water resistance is minimal (splash-proof only), so it’s not built for showering, swimming, or even heavy perspiration. Overall, the Casio A168WA‑1 packs in charming retro style, basic yet reliable functions, and legendary longevity—all for a low price. If you want a lightweight, no-frills digital watch with vintage flair, it’s worth a 7 out of 10. ... show more
