    • Strap adjusts on back not front
The back has an adjustable strap to hold it in place, the front is a piece of elastic. The elastic just lays loose on my saddle with no way to adjust the front. But once sitting on it, it doesn’t shift.

    • It's stiff
The cushion is not very thick and seems to have cardboard on the back of it. It does not conform very easily to the saddle seat. Also, the ties are not adequate. The first elastic had to be shortened and I had to change what the elastic at the back was attached to, it kept sliding off. This product is not very well engineered. I will make this one work, but will not be buying another. I will look for one that has been developed by someone who actually rides a western saddle. ... show more

    • I Love This Cushion!!
Ok - to say I love this cushion is an understatement. It literally saved my ass. If you've ever been on a mule you known how rough a ride it is. Well, I just spent two months, alone on mules (with local vaqueros as guides), to rediscover the old El Camino Real mission trail that extends from Loreto MX to El Descanso MX. (Over two months of tough riding on mules through the sierras and deserts of Baja.) Each vaquero supplied his own mule, and one for me, plus the saddle and stirrups. I never knew what to expect ... sometimes the saddle was worn thin, sometimes with holes, sometimes hard old leather - but the Cashel Tush Cushion saved me ... and I successfully completed the journey with minimal bruising and saddle sores. It's comfortable, but sweaty (as someone else mentioned). I live in Florida...I expect I'll have lots of wet butts for about 9 of the 12 months of the year. Such a horrible visual! :D But, it IS comfortable. I'm still looking for "comfortable but cool" though...the search goes on!

    • Just right for a lot of miles in the saddle
I have about five different tush cushions for my saddle, since we like to ride over 20 miles at a time. Even a nice saddle can get uncomfortable with a lot of miles. This one really was the most comfortable for me. It did not collapse or compress and did not get hot. I've tried some gel cushions the did just that. It made all the difference for my pelvic bones. LOL ... show more
