  • I Collect Knives....This is a MASTERPIECE
Size: 2" Color: Red Stag
Here's my sad tale of woe. We were in 'Vegas, went to The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, and Yours Truly, who is never without a pocket knife, had one. I'm one of those guys who has a knife in every pair of pants all of the time and never gave it a thought. I had to leave it at the door and it was not recoverable. They had no method by which to leave it at the door and retrieve it later. Well, we were there to see The Wizard of Oz (Amazing. A Do Not Miss!!), so what else could I do? Left knife behind, saw the Wizard. Best Thing Ever. A couple of days later I did a search for best pocket knives. CASE kept coming up over and over again. I prefer smaller pocket knives and when I saw this one, WOW, It looked way too good to be true and at a very reasonable price. What the heck. With Amazon's easy return I ordered it. It was waiting for me when I got home. What a gorgeous knife! Small, fits easily in the coin pocket of my jeans, is exceptionally sharp, and with the brass and chrome combo on the hard flamed bone handle it really makes the grade. My wife even said it was beautiful. I have no doubt that this will last a lifetime and will get handed down over generations. Case knives aren't cheap knockoffs like so many pretty knives that look good but won't hold an edge. Case is the real deal. And will be my go-to from now on. ... show more

  • Everybody oughta own a Case stockman
Size: 2.3" Color: Brown
Everybody knows Case's quality control is all over the place nowadays, but I wanted a carbon 75 pattern and can't find one locally. Rolled the dice with buying through Amazon because their return policy is awesome (unlike buying from Case directly). Fortunately, the one I got is a keeper. As far as the knife goes, if you know, you know. The large stockman is a beast. Feels great in hand. Works like a tank. I've seen a buncha folks complain that it's too big for their pockets - I don't know, try wearing real jeans or something. I'm a smaller fella and have no issues having it in my pocket. Great knife. EDIT - 4/26/26 Can't post a second review of the 3318 medium stockman I ordered, so I'll add it to this one. Was surprised to get a perfect one on the first order, so maybe Case is getting their act together. The little 3 5/8" yeller handle is a workhorse, don't let it fool ya. Very pleased. Also, maybe some of y'alls daddies didn't teach ya, but since a lot of people are leaving one star reviews because they don't understand what metals do when wet, lemme help y'all out. Carbon steel (or chrome vanadium, which these no longer are) will rust. Your $8 stainless Chinese knife didn't rust because it wasn't carbon steel. Has nothing to with "quality," that's just how it works. I carry carbon steel pocket knives in the Florida heat year round without issues. I don't force a patina on mine, I just use em hard, and until a good patina forms, I keep a thin coat of food grade mineral oil on the blade. When I say "keep," I mean it's part of my daily routine to wipe my knife off and add a thin coat. Every day. Once the patina gets there, I don't have to do it every single day, but I'll do it at least weekly. Also keep some #0000 steel wool handy and give it a little wipe to keep the blade nice and smooth. ... show more

  • Almost perfect, just as I remembered.
Size: 8" Color: Yellow Synthetic
This knife is very nostalgic for me. My grandfather had one just like it. Fit and finish are essentially perfect, as expected from Case. The Delrin side scales are so nostalgic, and, yes, beautiful. Other company's delrin knives are cheap looking, but not the classic Case knives. The sheepsfoot blade is perfect for whittling and the clip point blade is the most generally useful, making a good paring, poking and slicing blade. The spey blade is a bit anachronistic, originally intended for castrating calves out on the range, which I did one time with my grandfather. It would be a good skinning blade for small game, like squirrels. The surgical stainless steel has taken an edge very well. I was a bit concerned about no lock out blades, but the action is very secure without being difficult. It hasn't been a problem. I wouldn't carry this knife into a street fight. It's a working man's knife. At first I was reluctant to carry it, it looked so beautiful. I didn't want it to get any pocket wear. Finally I broke down and put it in my pocket. I love it. I only wish I had bought the large size. This one would get five stars, but it is just a little small for my hand. Update #1: Everything I said about this knife is still true. It works great, it looks beautiful, it keeps a sharp edge. I find I use the clip point blade the most and the sheepsfoot blade next and almost never use the spey blade. Not being a lockout has not been a problem. I still wish I had bought the larger size, but I can't find the large size in stainless. ... show more
