This is honestly a pretty good case for the money, but unfortunately I received a bad unit. I only noticed the worst flaw of all after putting my knives in. Pros are that it feels sturdy, it’s thick, it has strong latches, and it stores a lot of knives for the money. The portion of the foam that stores the knives is a great system that lets you customize each storage slot. However, there are negatives which may just be specific to the unit I received. First, the foam on the inside of the lid does not stay in place. Constantly falls out when opening the case. Speaking of opening the case, I thought I was doing something wrong and looked for additional latches when opening it because it is incredibly stiff. I finally just decided to use my strength in a way where I thought I was going to break it. The case as a whole just doesn’t appear very new in terms of quality control. I don’t expect it to look pretty, it’s just for holding and protecting knives but it feels bad when you drop $80 on something for it to appear scuffed and previously owned. However, the one thing that made me write this review is that there is one bit of damage that is not just cosmetic but affects its functionality. There is a gash in the plastic surrounding the rubber gasket as well as the gasket itself (see photo). This means that the case won’t be waterproof as described. All in all, if you get a good one I don’t think this can be beat for the money. However, given the condition of the unit I received I don’t know how likely it is that you will receive one similar.

The foam is much better than most as it is firmer. It's deep enough to hold large folders. If you want to stay organized and make your collection look legit then but this. I wish I bought the bigger one since I do have over 90 knives now.
