This is strictly a single serve brewer, but it will get you your cup of coffee in a very quick manney. You have to refill the water reservoir every time you use it, but it only takes a second since it is also just for one brew. I do like how it gives you the option of different ounces if you want to get a little more out of your k-cup, but not having to use a second one or run a second cycle on the same one. ... show more

Adding Fresh water with each brewing makes better coffee; SS appearace is sleek; Reusable cup too! __I like my coffee. I dislike these cup machines--so wasteful for the environment. When I have had to use one (no other options) I had better taste when I could bring my own ground coffee. So why this machine if I don't care for the principle? Because they do have their place--like at a location where there is no coffee shop nearby. Enter this machine. __This machine does not have a bit reservoir--some think that is a problem, I view it as a good thing. Coffee is water & ground coffee...At least with this machine since you have to add the water for each cup, your water will be fresh. __This machine provides you with a fill-it-yourself coffee capsule (K-cup). That gives you control over your coffee selection as well as its grind, and that helps make for a better cup of java. __The machine controls the heat and brew time. No choice here, but if the other choice was a pot of coffee sitting on a burner for who knows how long, well, I'll take a cup from here. __This machine can fill an ordinary cup or a common travel mug, so you have a choice there too. __People who are less concerned and just want a cup can use the disposable pods (sigh)., so those that don't want to be bothered filling a capsule with coffee don't have to. __The machine is minimalist looking and quite clean looking with its stainless front. __I don't think it will last as long, nor brew as close to 205 degrees Fahrenheit as say, a Mocha Master machine, but this clearly has its niche. The machine is made in part of plastic and in part of very thin stainless steel. When you first pull it out of the box, it does not appear very heavy duty. However, it has a decent weight to it, and the stainless-steel construction makes it look elegant. As to the coffee it produces, it comes with two adapters: one for K-Cups and the second to put your own ground coffee. I compared this coffee maker with another single cup machine I own that has similar specs. I was disappointed by the coffee produced with the ground coffee adapter. It was way lighter than the coffee produced with my old machine. It could be that the distribution of the coffee grounds in the container or the way the water is injected into it, is not as efficient. I have posted a picture for you to see the difference. Using a K-Cup makes similar coffee in both machines, so i am inclined to think that it is the adapter/container's design. I also tried making coffee, with very good results, with 3rd party reusable k-cups. Brewing time good, around 2 minutes for an 8oz cup. ... show more

This stainless steel coffee maker is sleek and compact. To initially get it ready to brew, just wash the filters, wipe down the unit and brew a first pot without coffee (just water). After that, you’re ready to go. I don’t have any K-cups (not environmentally friendly enough for me) so I only use the brew filter (both options are included with the unit). To my taste, it makes a really good cup of coffee - comparable to the full sized fancy model we also have. This is really convenient for an afternoon cup of coffee and cleanup is much easier than a full size coffeemaker. Plus it brews so much faster - 3 minutes or less - depending on how much water you use (6-14oz). It’s also ridiculously simple to use - just add water, coffee and press either Capsule or Ground - it brews directly into your mug. The only complaint I have is that the machine is a bit loud. At the end of the brew cycle it makes a louder noise and then ‘ticks' for over an hour after the brewing stops - I guess it’s cooling down? I moved it further from where I sit, as I can’t hear it as much when it’s next to the refrigerator. ... show more
