I’m a fan of the Carote cookware so when I saw they also make this knife set I knew I had to add it to my collection. Let me say these knives are just as wonderful as the cookware! They are an exquisite set to display as well! The neutral colors that coordinate with the cookware are seen all throughout this set from the block to the handles and the silver accents these are super pretty! My favorite feature from this set is the magnetic slots. This makes it super nice when putting them away as the magnetization is on both sides and they grab the knives quickly. Now I don’t have to fight with tiny holes and jabbing the wooden blocks like I’ve had to with others. I just simply slides then it and viola that are in place. You as well can put them anywhere in the block since there aren’t designated holes, which is great as I like my most used knives (the larger knives) up front, most sets those are always in the back. Truly though with this set it’s super easy to remove/put away them that it’s just as easy to grab the knives in the back. The block is nice and solid also, it’s got a nice weight to it so there is no worries about knocking it over nor it sliding on the counter. The block though is still lightweight so even with my weakened muscles I have no problem picking up the blocked and moving the block around. The handles fit great in the hand when cutting. The materials are quality and designed fabulously as even with a hand covered in prepared food these knives don’t slip in the hand at all. Don’t get me started on how magnificent these knives cut either or we will be here all day as they are so sharp they have cut absolutely everything with ease. These knives wash up well also. To preface my review, I have been seeing cookware from the Carote brand for a while and I’ve been intrigued because of how beautiful everything looks but have never actually gotten anything until this knife set. The knife block itself is beautiful and I really like the simple look of the beige on the handles. The handles are a good size and are really comfortable to hold but they’re also very lightweight which is something I’m not really used to and in my opinion makes the knives feel a bit cheap. As far as performance goes, they’re definitely sharp. I always use easily cutting a tomato as the test for if a knife is sharp and these knives cut right through everything including a tomato just fine. The only issue is that since these knives are super light, I found it difficult to cut through anything with a thicker skin even though they’re sharp. The other problem I’ve been having with these knives is I have been handwashing and drying immediately after use a the instructions directed and I can’t seem to not have water spots on my knives no matter what I do. It could be because I have hard water but I didn’t have this issue with my previous set of knives so I’m a bit stumped on how to stop it. As far as the value goes, I think with this set you’re getting a decent set of knives but you’re more so paying for the beautiful look and aesthetic. ... show more

We have had the same knife block since we got married and a while back decided it was time to upgrade. Nothing felt modern and simple enough until we saw this. This knife block is beautiful in person. The quality of all the knives are great and the style is eye catching. The steak knives are a little flimsy though, which is our only complaint with this set. The wood is high quality and the functionality is great. However there is a small learning curve to having the knives come straight up instead of out at an angle. Also if you have lower cabinets to the counter you will have to pull the block out to get to the longer knives. Overall I would recommend this 10/10 for design and 7/10 for knife quality. ... show more
