As there are many others who have doubtless covered a host of considerations before me, my review will zero in on one aspect in particular: SPEED. You see, it's not often that I'm surprised by a product (primarily because I have already done Extensive research by the time it arrives, and perhaps you can relate), but man was this an exception! To clarify my meaning, I already knew that it was supposed to be especially fast by the many reviews I had... well, reviewed... but I had largely written these off as, in reality, merely intending to convey that this was *relatively* fast. In other words, "fast" when compared with the various power wheels, go karts, etc. Most of you know what I mean: you shell out hundreds of dollars for seemingly impressive (battery-powered) gear, only to find said battery(ies) dies after minimal use whilst barely surviving limited encounters with grass, sidewalk cracks, and the like. So, all that to say that if you (like me) doubt the veracity of such reports concerning this things impressive speed, or if you (like me) hesitate to take them literally, then DON'T! I won't put a number (mph) on speed as I'm sure there are others out there that have tested it and my guess is not likely to contribute anything meaningful, but let me put it this way based on my own (direct) experience testing it: medium was so fast that I, hopefully in wisdom, never even tested it on high! Before you dismiss me as a wuss too readily, bear in mind that I was testing this down my street with bare (unprotected) head and arms, and I immediately recognized that if I experienced difficulty avoiding 'wipe outs' on medium speed (which I *did*, even while sitting--see video), how much more so on high! Now, if I had had the proper gear (which I no longer view as "optional"), I would have def. (albeit, warily) given high a go. Bottom line: Use this thing at your own risk, especially in/around neighborhoods, and consider two things: 1) investing in the proper gear (helmet, knee/elbow pads, etc.), and 2) know that this thing is FAST and high speed (or even medium speed, for that matter) should be reserved for the proper environment (parking lots/no-traffic areas) and/or for those who are much more advanced. In the final analysis, this thing was a pleasant surprise and an AWESOME/WELL WORTH purchase, and in no way should you interpret its speed as a drawback, given that mode selection limits both your acceleration and top speed (thereby largely negating misuse by novices). Moreover, the board itself is colorful and attractive, very sturdy, and appears to be of very high quality overall. The remote is easy to use and incredibly responsive, using a simple rotating "thumbwheel" design, which allows for one-handed operation without EVER having to lay eyes on it directly (this is GREAT for safety-sake, not to mention the brakes are KILLER!). So, quit reading and get this already--then get ready for glory as your son and/or daughter's HERO!!!

Can only imagine to get this when I was a kid, but still amazing in my early 40's. I brought this to downtown to use it with a friend who lives there. Went over a fairly arched bridge; this thing goes! Can't wait to use it on a long paved trail we have in my city. I guess it depends on skills, for me I have to be careful because the torque is instant. Being moved by this skateboard feels surreal. Amazing what technology can achieve. Again skills I guess. Those almost 20 miles per hour feel so incredibly fast to me. Definitely plenty of speed and range to even be used for local transportation. The range and charge times are true to specs I would say. I can't believe I waited this long to get one of these. Electric is just the way to go for products like this. That instant torque is so enjoyable. I'm not an expert, but it feels very well made. The grip is very impressive. I love the wheels too, very high quality large wheels that won't stop when little rocks are encountered. Simple genius touches like the handle cut makes this an overall perfect product. It feels very large to me, which is a good thing for stability. I need to buy safety equipment just in case. A helmet, knee protectors etc are recommended. You never know. I tested the three speed modes and I would say the most significant thing is how they take off. Definitely get used to it before using high speed mode. The remote is awesome, so easy to use, instant response. Rated for 300 pounds, don't mind to say I am 225, and this thing moves me like I am a feather. If this is what you want, like, need, definitely go for it, it won't disappoint.

It's pretty fast in the high speed but it's a bit unstable at high speeds the only thing I wouldn't recommend is going up steep hills it can do it but your battery is gonna be dead when you get to the top. Be careful with the brake or just don't use it it's extremely sensitive
