Very happy with the v5 until today. Smooth Riding, wishing all their models have the carrying handle, very convenient. Charge speed is nice, I can ride to work, charge it while working, and ride home. The product is advertised as having an 11mi. range and I could never squeeze more than 4-5 mi. out of it. I assumed this is because my route I take is mixed up and downhill, and their numbers are 'lab grown.' But that's fine, it got me to work. I only mention this is it may be a symptom of my current issue. Today I went out for a ride on a full charge - was not even 10 minutes out the door when the whole thing just died. Board is unresponsive, controller wont connect unless I'm pushing along. Reads extremely weak voltage when I'm pushing along (likely just a read on the regenerative charge coming from the motors as I move it), but other than that the board does not respond to breaking or acceleration, and the controller wont even connect unless the board is moving. Went to plug in the board and the charger's light is green, so the batteries must be fully charged, but like I said, board is unresponsive. I'm more than happy to give 5 stars once the issue is resolved, but as it stands, I cant recommend the product if it's just gonna gonk out after a month of moderate use (maybe 20 hours accumulatively?). Sent an email to the Meepo support team with this info, I'll have to wait and see about a response. After about 2 weeks of back and forth, they helped diagnose the problem and shipped me a brand new battery (as mine was defective/not working properly). Communication went really well and my emails were returned next business day. Process probably would have been quicker had I not missed an email or two. All in all I'm really satisfied with the customer service experience. After installing the new battery I went for a ride and everything seems to be working perfectly. Considering my experience so far, If were to ever get an upgrade from the V5 it would likely be another meepo board, maybe a onewheel. Offroad riding seems like a lot of fun.

I love my Meepo V3! The meepo V3 is a great bird at a great bargain price! I have 3 complaints with the board. First the ESC isn’t the most responsive on the market, however I believe they fixed this with the newer V4 board. Secondly the battery life is not the greatest and sometimes going up a hil even with 70% battery it will tell me it’s getting close to being dead when I am on pro mode… it is not getting close to dead when I normally does this and the battery usually has about 30-40% left at this time. Lastly, I’m not a fan of having hub motors as it makes changing out your wheels with something else on the market very difficult. The only upgraded wheels you can get are either the meepo 100mm wheels which I have heard make for a better riding experience, or the cloud wheel donut 120h wheels but those have been out of stock for quite some time now. Besides these issues I truly do love my meepo board. I’ve ridden longboards since I was probably 12 so it wasn’t too difficult to get used to riding the meepo V3. I have done 29 mph comfortably on the board and it has proven to be a very steady board with the red bushings that it comes with. Out of the box some of the nuts are a little loose and will need to be tighten to your preference, but this is easy to do with the included multi tool! All in all if you’re looking to get a VERY good skateboard for under $500 then this is the way to go. Note that other skateboards in the 200-300 dollar range are slow on acceleration, slow in the top speed zone, and the battery life will normal be much worse. With the meepo you can accelerate quickly, hit top speed easily on a flat surface or downhill, go right through grass or fields with ease even on the stock wheels, and so much more! I would highly recommend the Meepo V3 to anyone in the market. It’s great for college campuses and it’s fun to let your friends try to ride! The built in handle is by far the greatest feature and you can even install lights to the bottom if you know a little bit about basic electronics! Overall a fantastic board for the price!

The media could not be loaded. Edit #2: I was going down a STEEP hill and the brakes randomly decided to stop working. As you can imagine kinda scary I managed to ride it out thankfully no cars came and took me out. I did some research and I guess when the battery is fully charged the regenerative braking will just cut the brakes out to protect the battery resulting in certain death if you’re on a hill. Kinda dumb design. Be careful guys. Edit: after a few weeks of owning I have decided to keep the board. I have ordered the V5 extended range battery to replace this one hopefully that solves my range issue (150$ later). The board itself is great! Trucks are solid just needed a bit of tightening to get rid of speed wobbles. honestly the wheels are pretty decent but I will still upgrade them cause if you are on any sort of slightly rough road you feel every vibration. But I have rode over smaller pine cones no issue and gravel and havnt been yeeted face first at the ground yet 💀. My very first ride with a fully charged battery I only got 5 miles of range. Pavement with some small hills. Kinda blows that ain’t even close to the advertised 11 miles of range. I was going about 15 mph the whole time and I’m only 180 pounds way below the weight limit of the board. For a 500$ board you would expect the advertising to be accurate. I can’t really go where I wanted to go now due to shortened range. Gonna decided if I wanna return this or not now. 😞
