Made from rugged polyethylene plastic in an unobtrusive black color, the Cateraide is insulated to keep food hot or cold for 4 to 6 hours. Measuring 25 x 24 x 17 inches (H x W x D), the Cateraide PC300N03 fits easily into catering vans and kitchens. The high-strength plastic construction ensures long-lasting durability even with frequent transport. The Cateraide is designed to make your job easier featuring a unique end-load design and individual tracks for each pan allowing for flexible configurations. The food pan carrier can accommodate one of the following pan configurations: five 2 1/2" deep pans. Three 4" deep pans and one 2 1/2"deep pan. Just received this unit today. I was quick to check the door seal as there were some bad reviews about it not sealing properly. It seemed like it was a tight fit by the tension on the latches but the seal looked like it was loose in some areas. So I tipped the unit onto its back and put a bright flashlight inside pointing at the door. I then latched the door shut and dimmed the lights.... I could see light coming through from an area at the bottom wich supports a review I read about juice leaking out in someone's vehicle. There was also light coming from the side and almost the entire top of the door which supports another claim about steam leaking out. I looked at the hinges closley and they do look bent. I was thinking about trying to tweak them to see if I could get a better seal but decided against it due to the fact that it is only plastic that the srews are anchored into and there is a possibility of striping out the holes... I will be returning this unit and buying a different brand. In the photos you can see the light from the flashlight with the door secured shut One is from the bottom, one is from the side where the hinges are and one is from the top. Update... I did order a new Cambro brand similar to this model and was equally disappointed with it. I did the flashlight test wit it and it does not seal well at all either . I came to the conclusion that things are made super crappy theese days and gone are the days of quality control. Maybe one day businesses will take pride in thier workmanship again. But untill then we will all have to settle for substandard priducts. That being said, I did use this Carlisle for a recent cook. I had a brisket and 3 pork shoulder roasts come off the smoker at 10 pm. They were double wrapped in foil and I put them into full size foil pans and added foil to cover the pans. I fell asleep while resting the meat. At 9 am the next morning the brisket and pork was still holding at 140° internal temp. I changed my 1 star rating to three stars because of this and I am considering keeping the unit. ... show more

fantastic carrier!! I have a small catering business on the side, and needed a way to transport my hot dishes. I had been looking at Cambro, but my budget didn't allow such an expense. While looking for a budget friendly option, I came across this carrier. I was very happy to see the quality of this carrier when it arrived. It's not overly heavy, but good quality. Plenty of space to hold my hot foods (so far it's held 150 servings each of pork, chicken, potatoes with room to spare!) I was even more impressed when we had a big job (over 2 hours away) and my food stayed hot! Some liquid even leaked in the carrier, but didn't seap out! I have stored 1/2 size aluminum trays and full size aluminum trays with no issue. And it holds quite a lot! Overall, very impressed, and looking forward to purchasing another one later for my cold dishes. ... show more

Good gracious I LOVE this carrier. I put pasta sauce in for a catering job around 2pm, and at 3am when I was cleaning up the dishes, the back-up sauce was still so hot I had to use potholders to get it out! I would love to invest in a second one so I can either have a cold and hot carrier, or have two hot carriers for large events. They are invaluable, and Amazon has the best price you will find on this bad boy. Worth every penny, but no need to spend more than you have to on anything, right? The ONLY thing I've noticed is that space between the tracks is tight if you use an aluminum pan inside a regular hotel pan. As long as the thing is full so the pans can support each other, I've had no issue stacking aluminum pans in there and putting them in hotels at our serving site. ... show more

For the price this is an excellent unit. I proofed it with a pan of boiling water, then made dishes for a brunch for a large family gathering including an egg casserole, hash browns, oatmeal, and french toast casserole. Started with the eggs at 7:00 then slowly added each item in as it was finished. By the time we ate at 10:00 everything was still piping hot and perfect. I really can't comment on the durability for food service use but for for light-to-medium home use it's perfect. I did the "flashlight test" on mine and didn't see any light leaking out from the gasket so it appears to be pretty tight. Not sure if it's air/water tight but it definitely fits my needs. Follow up: after about 9 months it does still work but after several uses it’s pretty clear that there’s an obvious and not insignificant gap at the door. I didn’t notice it at first until I used it to transport some BBQ and found a bunch of water in the back of my car from the steam. Can’t say I WOULDN’T recommend it but you should be aware that it’s pretty unlikely that it’ll seal like a genuine Cambro. ... show more

Used 2 of these along with several different styles of other brands in the restaurant I worked at. So I knew exactly what I was getting. In my opinion, Its not worth the extra money for the more poplar brand, this one is about as good as it gets. Buy it, You will not be sorry. Couldn't find a company close by that rented insulated food containers, so checked on Amazon to see how much they cost. Came across this known brand and it seemed quite reasonable. Purchased a couple of these for our group as there are many activities throughout the year where food spoilage/safety can be an issue. These kept food nice and warm at our recent event, 3-4 hours between food delivery and serving time. one small issue that's not a huge deal is that the rubber gasket that makes the seal between the door and body of the unit seemed generic and custom made for the seal. This Carlisle is a high quality product. Great Price for the quality. It is indestructible and half the price of a "Cambro" It keeps items hott and cold as needed for 6 hours plus. I suggest purchasing the ice pack that slides into one of the 5 slots, adds convenience. Great product all the way around. The metal hinges are nice while the door swings open all the way.
