I needed a warm roomy coat I can layer up for work outside. Its not as fitted at the bottom as I would like but it fits great everywhere else. I usually wear a XL in hoodies 12/14 in tops and not tight fitted. I got the XL in this and I am glad I did. The material is not the potato sack like material most carharts are. I really wanted to love this coat. I have the vest that is similar and love it, but this coat was way large in the tummy area. Not just a little, but truly too large. I found that even when sizing down the belly area did not change that much. I ended up returning it :(
