This coat keeps me warm. It is a little bit. I got an XL but I am not complaining about it. I actually like the larger fit. I love the color. It does not easily get dirty.

This coat is so warm, fits perfectly, has tons of pockets, and didn’t break the bank. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a winter jacket that is very warm, but also allows you to move in it!

This coat is HEAVY DUTY. I’m 5’9 and it’s about mid thigh on me. I ordered an XL (as I do with all my Carhartt coats) but I wish I would have gotten the 1X only for a little more room in the shoulders and hips… something to considering if you have a larger frame. The zipper is awesome, it works in both directions so you can unzip from the bottom when you sit and still stay bundled up from the midsection up. The pockets are wonderful.. there’s really warm and insulated ones in case you forgot your gloves!

Do you live in Maine? Boston? You know layers suck! California girl that wishes she had this coat 7 years in Boston. Now Im moving to Maine and I will not have to wear two pairs of pants and three shirts. The Pockets! Fur trim on a utility jacket? Yes please! Wear it to feed the animals then go out to dinner. North face are nice but I live hard in my clothes. Durable? Its carhardt. I had to order up one size. 165lb & like a lot of movement in my arms. Do I wish it had soft cuffs? Yes but I can add that. Arms are a little short so no burrowing my hands up in the sleeves. Boo. The pockets! Could operate without purse(aka crossbody/fanny) if I choose. PS not the duck fabric of most carhardt which makes it look more casual then work. Hope this helps! Happy warm coat searching!

Nice looking coat. The pockets really make the coat functional; there are 3 pockets on each side. I particularly like the pockets that fall right under the breast line (great if you were outside with no gloves) and the front pockets (excellent for a large cellphone, few dollars, and wallet). The side pockets are deep but cannot be fastened. To my surprise, there aren't any inner pockets, but there is a large pouch but not for anything valuable (maybe for a scarf?). When using the hood, the collar zips right above the chin which is great protection from the cold and wind. The fur trim adds a bit of fun and fashion to an otherwise basic-looking coat. I believe the coat has a generous cut. I ordered an L, and then quickly ordered an XL for comparison. Both sizes fit and I could wear a fleece jacket under each, of course, with more room for the fleece in the XL. The L and XL are one of those fits where I found it to be "six in one hand and half a dozen in the other." That is, all depending on the look that I want: L for a more slender fit and XL for a fit that would allow me to gain at least 7lbs and still be able to fit the coat. Below are my age and measurements. I'm giving age because weight settles on the frame differently when you're older and haven't been to the gym in 4 months. When I get the exchange is when I'll decide whether I'll keep the L or the XL. This will be my first Carhartt. I haven't worn the coat in the elements because I'm exchanging it. I'll update the warmth factor when I wear the coat; hence the 4 star rating and not a 5. I'm not penalizing the company for a incorrectly sewn hem because I can do an exchange. Having said that, I've owned more pricier parkas and I'm glad that I chose Carhartt. Age: 68 Height: 5'4" Weight: 163.4 lbs Measurements: Bust: 39; Waist 36; Hips 43 I hope this helps.
