These Carhart boots fit my foot perfectly as the size both width and length was true to the sizing. Around the ankle was tight to go one but provides very good support while wearing. Perfectly waterproof as I stood in water for extended period of time…no leaks. I did apply a bit of waterproofing to the thread seams out of the box…I hope they hold up well in the future…much lighter in weight than the D.ners that they replaced… ... show more

So out of the box they were in good shape. They only had one spot that rubbed my ankle for about 8 hours during the break in. It wasn't enough to leave a mark and really only an occasional annoyance. The traction is decent, and I didn't note any issues walking through snow or across small patches of ice. I will update as the boot sees more use and in different conditions. FYI, I don't work in them aggressively outdoors and really just bought them for their EH rating for a requirement on building entrance. They are a bit klunky in appearance compared to what you might think from the pictures, if that's important to you. They are also true to size with just enough room for a thick sock if you need the extra warmth. ** Update ** After several years of hard use,,,Drum Roll!!! They are still going strong! They don't have excessive miles on them, so tread wear hasn't been an issue. They were exposed to very excessive temperatures for extended periods of time during massive glass furnace inspections. I treated the leather with a good quality protectant to keep it from cracking. I did notice a bit of moisture getting in when submerged. However, it's nothing a little seam sealer wouldn't fix. I treat my boots brutally so I kind of expect certain issues. I'm still enjoying them and I would also recommend them to others!! ... show more

I cannot get my size 15E feet down in the boot as the top of the boot is way too small, apparently it is made for skinny European fashion models, not the average Rural Appalachian Hilldweller. I've never had this problem with pull-on work boots of other brands. There ought to be a measurement for the diameter of the boot top to ensure a fellow can get his feet down in the darned things. The 30-day return window has passed and now I have a brand new pair of Carhhart work boots that will never see a days work on this farm. Maybe I should have them bronzed and set them atop my mailbox down in the hollow. Last word: forget Carhharts if your feet are larger than average. ... show more
