After years of using gloves with fingers, I decided to try out mittens to see if it would help my fingertips from getting pretty cold to the point that they would hurt. I used the Carhartt mittens (size Large, they fit as expected) to do about an hours worth of snow shoveling and using the snow blower. My hands never felt cold and my fingertips weren't chilled at all. I should have bought the gloves a few seasons ago instead of just dealing with the other gloves.

These gloves had great protection of the wrists and extra cushion on the inside to keep your hands warm. The only thing to call out is if you sweat and that sweat gets cold inside the gloves it may feel uncomfortable

I wore these to go snow boarding in -20 degree weather my hands never got cold, I wore just the mittens, no liner gloves as an extra layer or anything like that. They did a great job of keeping the snow out, your dexterity is fairly limited with these on but you can do just about anything with your hands with these on if you can see what you're doing. Example: for the life of me I couldn't buckle the strap to my snow boarding helmet with these things on, because I couldn't see the strap.

For the price these can’t be beat. The fleece on the inside is super soft and silky. They are very warm do the job. The only downside is the fleece might be a little too silky. It’s hard to get the mittens to bend because the fleece just slides away from the shell. If you’re just walk-in around in the cold, these are perfect.

-15F with 14mph winds and my hands were perfectly warm for an hour of shoveling/blowing snow. I've had them two seasons now and still love them. Yes, they can get damp inside from your hands' moisture especially if you are active. The same quality that make them wind/water "proof" to keep the cold/wet from coming in also keeps the dampness from easily getting out. You need to trun your gloves inside out, or use a boot/glove dryer (great for wet kids gear too). Try to avoid heat drying as this can degrade the insulation more quickly over time. You can also treat odors while they are inside out if you haven't been properly drying them. Take care of your gloves and they will take care of you, don't ya know ;)
