I got these for my husband about a week ago. He says they fit true to size and have been holding up with going to work. He needs new boots every 4-6 months because that’s usually when his boots start falling apart. So far so good, but it’s only been a week. I am on your typical jobsite daily. lots of climbing, twists and turns. These boots stay with me. The high ankle support makes me not have to worry about turning an ankle. And the boots have a good sole so no slipping around. I've worn Redwings for the last 5 years. My job provides me with boots, so I take care of my feet. Had a problem with Redwing shipping to where I live (had a store 10 miles from my last residence) because now I live in Japan. Regardless. I wanted to try these Carhartts. I needed a larger (wider) boot. These claimed to be extra wide. And they are, I just wished they were wider. That is really my only complaint. They have just got broken in, and that takes a few weeks and so they are not as tight as they once were. But nowhere near the comfort of my last boot. I am not sure I will buy these again. I have no regret getting them. Just wished they were a fraction wider. And they could have come with a ratchet lace system. Or I am just lazy. ... show more

I live in New England and these boots were comfortable in the fall weather and also when I went for a walk in 6" of snow on a 15 degree day in January. Dry too, no leakage. This boot is amazing so far. Normally you have to worry about breaking in a new boot before it gets truly comfortable but not this boot. Plus its made of true leather like you would expect for a horse saddle etc unlike the fake leather material companies try to pass as real leather. Overall great. The shoelaces i think are made with recycled straws. I've seen a major decline of quality over the years with these. This latest set, the shoelaces started fraying after a few weeks.
