Used when I broke my ankle. It is a little heavy but assume it needs to be or it would easily fall over. It was easy to put together. Love the ease of placing knee & ability to coast quick & easy. Quality is good. Can adjust knee seat & handle bar height. The blade on wheel for brake can collapse down on wheel, if unit is thrown in the car. Takes some leverage to pull it off. I don't know what I'd have done without this thing after my ankle surgery. The movement is smooth, the cushion is squishy. Note: before having a cast on, ask your technician to add a little extra padding to your shin - my tech was amazing in asking about this! Only drawback of thr scooter is the brake isn't the strongest. Scooter is definitely best for flat or near flat surfaces ... show more

Broke my foot days before vacation. Was still able to go, rolled down the isles of planes, super fast around the airports. Was able to balance laundry basket on padded area, grocery shopped, even managed stairs, using my good leg kneeling and lifting the scooter up in front of me. I am very independent with it. I rarely ever write a review, but this really earned my "WOW". I fractured my navicular bone in my foot/ankle and was restricted to an air cast and keeping all weight off of my foot. My local medical supply store did not have a knee scooter available for at least a week and my orthopedic surgeon said to try Amazon. I ordered it Friday (in her office) and received it Sunday. I really thought I'd be out of work a couple of days waiting as Amazon said I wouldn't even get it until Tuesday. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. A couple of quick clicks of a peg and a lock and I was rolling around the house. They are much easier than hobbling around on crutches.
