Don't listen to those other reviews. I bought this one for myself because of my back and neck and it is not bulky, does not take up a lot of room either. I have a queen sized bed and it does not even take up half the room. It's a little small, not like the other ones. The arm rests are a little small as well and the arm rests are not adjustable. You have to zipper up the arm rests. In the box comes 3 pieces, the cushion, and two arm rests. It's very easy to assemble as I did it in under 2 minutes. The heated massage feels really good and there is a button on the side to turn off the heat if you don't like it. All in all, I would give it a 4 star because it is not like the other one that is more expensive. But then again the other one does not have a heated massage. I really enjoy this one because it feels so good. It is easy to assemble and it is very comfortable and NO it does not take up that much room. I would say it takes up as much room as an airplane seat, put it that way. I would definitely get this if your back hurts. ... show more

I would like to say, I LOVE this cushioned back rest. I love the fact that the arms comes off allowing me to sit with or without them being attached. I pretty much use the armrest unattached so I can adjust them for my liking. The light is great for reading and the heated back massager is awesome!!! I’ve attached a travel size pillow (with satin pillow case) to the top to rest my head on and protect my hair. Without the armrest, I use the back rest as a leg rest to massage my legs for circulation from sitting/teleworking for 8 hours. No complaints at all... It’s best to try it before you knock it because everybody isn’t built the same. The cost is pretty steep but I’m okay with it since it meets my full satisfaction overall. ... show more

    • Not what it appears - strongly recommend buying something else.
I was so excited to receive this bed pillow. I had been reluctant to spend so much money on it, but really liked that it had the massage, light and cup holder features. Unfortunately, it is nothing like I'd hoped. The 'massage' is just a vibrating function that makes so much noise it woke up all 3 of my kids downstairs. It's difficult to assemble and can only be used as long as it's plugged in. It's horribly uncomfortable and offers almost no lower back support. They said it was made of memory foam, which it is not - just really hard unforgiving foam that you'd normally find in a dentist chair - only harder. So, so bummed. Hoping the return goes smoothly, but not holding my breath. ... show more

This is a very large backrest. It's very firm and sturdy. The extra features it includes were what I considered also. I'm short 5ft. I found its arms an uncomfortable height so that threw off the cup holder comfort. I'm not using it as much as I thought because I have to scoot and climb into it. It takes up a lot of space. It was expensive to sacrifice comfort and it would have been an EFFORT to return. ... show more

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and honestly I’m just sad I don’t have one. Super comfy, sturdy too! The light is so bright (not for direct use on eyeballs) the cup holder can fit pretty much any size cup, the vibration is cool but beware turning it on if your dog is crazy like ours, it will think it is a threat and you will pay the price for protecting it.     • A not so comfortable back rest.
Bought this back rest because I was travelling and hotels normally do not have recliners which is what I normally sleep in. It seemed to work here at home so took with me when I left on a 30-day trip beginning Sept 11. Note that I would be staying in a different hotel nearly every night of the trip as I was travelling over 6,000 miles during that time. Unfortunately the back has no give and therefore after a couple of nights began to cause me pain in my lower back. Also, the arms turned out to be a little short and the cup holder in the one arm began to cause irritation to my left arm. It also turned out to unwieldy moving it from my car to a hotel room every night. I would like to return the back rest but apparently I am unable to as the time period for returning has lapsed. Besides I think the left arm rest is beginning to collapse under weight already. I never used the reading lamp so cannot comment on it. ... show more

It is as advertised. Not for use in queen size bed if you want to sleep in the same bed as your wife. I removed the right arm so I had space for my pillow in the queen sized bed. Sitting up wonderful, heat, massage and light all nice. After you fall asleep you have to either slide toward the bottom of the bed to lay down or remove it from the bed, which in our case does not work because then the closet doors are blocked. The reviews saying this is child-size are nuts. Well made. Light works great. Haven’t tried massage. The back and arms are firm (good for the back). If I want to lounge rather than sit up straight I just put a bed pillow behind my back. The only problem is where to put it when not in use because it is so big! ... show more
