I don't think you need the retaining washers in the product image and it doesn't come with them. This product seriously needs some instruction! It seems the bolts just need to be flared, but what is the tool that does that? I'm going to attempt it with a C clamp and something rounded off...     • Awning parts.
Make sure you get what you need. I ordered these and they were the wrong size. I had to file and grid to make these fit. but they do work now.

    • Did not come with push clips.
Would be ok, but they are very thin. Come with bushings to fit in shochs but nothing to keep the pins in place. (Push clips)

    • Ignore missing clip reviews
These pins are meant to be flared!! There is no clips to put on these. If you have a carefree awning just look at what’s there and you’ll understand. It works sort of like a rivet. How to flare them properly? I have no idea. I modified a large C clamp and made it work. I’m sure there’s a tool that does this but I don’t know of it. Other than that they’re a perfect replacement. Two metal clips are missing! I think I will need to purchase pressure caps to install the gas spring. This is very disappointing!!

As others have noted in their reviews, while the picture reflects two rivets/clips to attach to the pins, they are not included with the hardware. Huge inconvenience.

    • Perfect repair kit
I had to replace my gas shocks on my camper with longer ones. (Used to push out the awning) To take the old ones out, you have to drill out the old pins. So you need these new pin kits. They worked great, you need a kit for each shock. The kit comes with new plastic bushings also.
