This replacement part is an upgrade from the original it replaces. The design appears much better especially the three tube mounting hole instead of the original two. One person can do this but two makes it much easier.

Easy replacement for the faulty motor

This was an exact replacement motor for my Carefree Traveler awning. Easy to replace but best to have another set of hands to hold the roller tube when doing this. Also know that my original had rivets at the end cap. Screws would not hold so new rivets were needed.

While I do think these parts are way overpriced, after much research on the internet and after visiting two of the "big name" RV Sales & Parts businesses, this was the best price I found anywhere. It includes the motor and complete gear assembly. This was very easy to install. I unrolled my awning a couple of feet, got up on a good ladder, tied the awning support arm so that it could not extend further. (It will when you remove the old motor if not secured.) On some awnings, a couple of pop rivets need to be drilled out and replaced. Still not too big of a deal but you will need a special tool to reinstall. Mine was only a matter of removing about 10 or so small phillips head screws, unplugging the wire connectors, and then slapping the new one into place. These do fit several different styles so make sure you know exactly what you've got. This took me maybe 30 mins to install. Really easy. Shipping was quick and packing was great.

Sad to say I just set up some time to get this part put on my RV because a gear was busted on mine so I was informed you guy don’t just sell the gear so I had to buy the hole part. That said the only dang thing this part was missing was why I needed in the first place. Now I look on here and it says I only had 30days to return so I’m stuck with a brand new part that I didn’t need in the first place. I only needed the gear that’s in between the arm of the owning and the motor shaft so as of now I’ve been robbed in a way that makes me write this sort of crazy that the darn gear can’t be replaced seems like a good way rope someone into buying and wasting a lot of Money and time. I could be a very good sales man for you if the part was the right one. If there’s any way we can make this right I wouldn’t mind that at all.
