A bit confusing as the details state comes with 2 rivets and the picture shows 1. With this in mind I rolled the dice and ordered the first replacement handle which came very quickly and with only one rivet. The handle is designed for the use of only one rivet for installation. I bought this to replace the handle on a 95 bounder with a carefree spirit awning without apparent markings of fx or fiesta. My original handle is of the 2 small rivet design and in my opinion the replacement handle is a better design, so I proceeded to drill out the 2 rivets and removed my broken handle. The new handle fit the rectangular hole almost perfectly and final installation will cover up the 2 holes from original but... there is a difference where the locking portion engages in the hole in the stowed position. When the awning is opened and extended there is no problem whatsoever but stowed for travel, the handle would not go into the closed position. Fortunately I had not installed the rivet and was test fitting. My options were to return and continue searching for a handle like mine or drill a 3/8 hole, 13/16" lower than the hole used while stowed and resting at the retracted position, which was the difference between the 2 handles when compared side by side. I chose to drill the additional hole and install. After drilling a new 3/16 hole to install the rivet I had to move the inner part of the awning leg to get a 3/8 hole to line up with the rivet hole as there wasn't enough clearance to get the rivet to sit flush against the handle which is important for proper installation. Once installed there was no interference and it worked perfectly. I liked the new handle so well I ordered a 2nd handle to match the other side, which btw didn't come with any rivets so I am not happy about that, seems a hit or miss thing. Not the biggest deal just a bit inconvenient to chase one down. If the handle malfunctions or does not hold up well I will update, but for now I am happy with my results for which might be my unique situation.

The first handle I received was defective. The locking pin was missing. Returned and reordered. replacement handle was correct. This handle replaces Spirit, Spirit FX,, Fiesta, and Simplicity plus. Drilled out the 2 rivets with an 1/8" drill bit. The new handle did not fit properly in to the existing hole. If you look closely there is a small casting line on the bottom tung. A couple passes with a file cleaned that up and fit perfectly. Drilled a new 3/16 hole and installed the new rivet. as one of the other reviews mentioned. The locking pin is not in the same position as the original.( Pre 1997) When in the closed position you have to move the mounting bracket on the camper body or as I chose to drill a new 3/8" hole where the locking pin snaps in to wen closed. These are considerable less expensive than from Carefree so maybe they are seconds from the manufacture. But with a little effort mine works fine.

Just drill out the old one and put in the new one. Just went to Harbor Freight and bought a pop rivet gun. Never used one before and it was easy as cutting pie. Work way better than my screwdriver setup. So onto my complaint. I will eventually be in the same boat in a few years time. The spring they use to keep pressure on the pin wears out. It's not the pin wearing out. It could be an easy fix but Carefree looks like it wants you to buy a whole new handle.

good value. Easy to install. It doesn't line up 100% perfect, but close enough. Had to drill the last hole for the "storage location", but not a big deal. Way stronger than the OEM ones. Would buy again, but I don't think I will ever have to.

Both handles I ordered came already open with no rivets included. Mounted easily with some rivets I had on hand though.
