absolute novice to turning - using a router boss device (chipsfly.com) modified to do lathe like projects -- my first attempt beyond simple spindle contours was making these goblets -- the tools were just fantastic -- the more i got into the project, the more i used these tools rather than the traditional lathe chisels i have - especially after i got the blank rounded out - i found them perfect for doing the fine tuning of the inside cut and the stem work -- edges held up well -- i was more successful refreshing the edges than i have been with standard chisels -- i don't believe i would have been able to successfully produce a goblet without them.

Excellent product that has helped me expand my lathing repitoire. My cheap lathe now produces great results The parts change easily from the handle. For most parts, I don't even need the handles. The spare bits, changing tools and solid flat surfaces (a BIG plus on the goose-neck on interior projects) and the expandable handle make this a most flexible and easy-to-use product. I highly recommend this product.

love the sharpness and durability of the cutters. Don't like that I have to stop lathe and use Allen wrench to change cutting tool since there is only one handle. not sure I'll ever use the handle extension. Should have included two handles that could be joined to make one long handle. Poor design on usability
