It is a little tricky getting it set up but once you have the app downloaded to your phone and the Bluetooth connection made to the obd2 reader it connects readily on future attempts. I know it says that it will work with iOS but I have not seen anyone do it succesfully..successfully... it works great with newer android phones though. ... show more

    • Just saved a ton of money by diagnosing check engine light myself.
The OBD2 reader came with a mini DVD, which included multiple programs and versions and languages. But from what I saw on-line, it wasn't required. So, I simply took the OBD2 reader to my car, plugged it in, started the car, and linked the reader to my phone via Bluetooth. It connected but did nothing. So, I remember seeing a video on-line that mentioned using the VLink app to diagnose codes. I searched the Google Play store for it and found other options and selected Car Scanner by OvZ. Downloaded the app, opened it, and selected my car make, model, and engine, and then connected to the OBD via Bluetooth and TA-DAAAA... connected. Ran the diagnostics and it produced an error code. So, I looked that up and found some corrective actions. Completed those. Turned the car off and back on, and used the Car Scanner app on my phone to delete the error codes on the OBD2, and the Check Engine Light went away! Hooray!!! Do you know how much time and money I just saved??? Follow those steps and it should work just fine and save you money! 1. With car off, plug in OBD2 reader. 2. Turn on car and connect OBD2 reader to phone using Bluetooth. Code is 1234. 3. Open car scanner app of your choice. (I used Car Scanner by OvZ) 4. Run diagnostic scan, get codes. 5. Look up codes and remedies on-line. Make fixes. 6. Turn car off, then back on. OBD2 should re-connect with phone via Bluetooth. 7. Clear error codes. Check Engine light should go out.
