I purchased these pyle 6x9s' for a project. The project is a game that really requires top notch quaility sound to make sound effects seam as real as possible. Keep in mind i did not put these in a car. SO.... i did the unthinkable! I built a T- Line box with slotted port for these like in the pic. The box is 1.212 Cuft each speaker, and comes in around 45HZ. On face where speaker is mounted I carved a tweeter horn out of 2x8 lumber and mounted this to the front of the box. Each speaker has its own box and the two boxes are back to back. I have a Planet Audio PL2400 4channel amp bridged running them. Guys all i can say is its all in the build!! The mids and highs come at you like hifi, because of the wood horns that i mounted them to. Lets talk about the bass. I have been doing car stereos since a kid. I have had some awesome systems. Sitting in a 14' x 12' room im my house. I could start to hear bass frequency at 9hz. Can you play music at that.....NO , but it was very interesting that it was even audible!! SO with this build , playing R and b old school , new school , rock , rap, country, the sound was awesome from 25hz and up!! You would swear you were in a car with a pair of 10 inch subs!! Got some scrap lumber laying around build and see for your self!! On the Square port length 1 and 2 pieces facing the back of speaker i used ribbed foam rubber as a cushion and sealed the rest. If you build this correctly with the size i have given you will not be disappointed!! Oooooh yeah, hey Pyle.... hope you read this, the speaker wire that you guys packed in the box with these speakers, WTH. why would you even put it in there, junk! Guys throw the speaker wire away at the start and get your own!! Good luck ... show more

I've installed a lot of speakers in cars in the past year or 2. I like these the best for a few reasons. 1. They come with the hardware to install it if you are doing a custom installation or putting them in a 6x9 speaker box (which I highly suggest you buy as well) 2. They come with protective grilles. 3. They come with the wiring needed so you can run em to an amplifier or just splice them with your OEM wiring. 4. The sound is amazing. You got good vocals coming out as well as good bass too. It all depends on how your equalizer is set on your stereo. These are the best bang for you buck. The packaging when received was the way it should be they're double boxed. They were inside their factory box and then packed into an Amazon box with the proper padding. The shipping on these are good and its fast. I would definitely suggest these to anyone who wants a better and clearer sound as well as good bass reflex. ... show more

I'm very satisfied with these speakers 6 x 9, 8 way car speakers, I don't even know if they are really 8 way, I have the similar 5.5" door speakers, these 6 x 9 have very good bass, almost like a subwoofer, of course 120 ounce magnets on these , that's as big or bigger than some on subwoofers, I'm just using a pioneer stereo no amp,you can tell a amp will only make them sound better, for less than 50 $, and they dont distort at very high volume.I'm very happy with my purchase, I recomend these babys to anyone, you won't be disappointed , well im dissapointed both speakers blew in 3 months ... show more

I hit these with some fairly high wattage and wow! They sounded fairly comparable to a Kenwood 6x9 concert series but not as warm sounding the test I used was the same 6x9 boxes running off of the same Kenwood hqr amplifier. After a time of using the tweeters started to sound a bit scratchy also I believe I give them a decent workout. Using a oscilloscope testing for distortion I'm able to dial in. The eight way idea is novel. They're okay really they're not a pro audio speaker they got some pretty nice sounding mid Bass don't expect deep lows unless you're playing at low volume. The magnet on the back side is gargantuan! I imagine this is what helps its performance. The look is something out of an '80s movie with the freaky scientist Neighbor Next Door Maybe. They're not horrible no they actually exceeded my expectations if it weren't for the scratchy Twitter and the less than warm sound they could have gotten five stars. Good value for the money remains to kind of be seen. ... show more

Sounds great, My old school Alpine CDE 7858 has 45watts per channel. While I'm certain that with 100 watts Rms I would get full sound potential from the Pyle 8 way 6×9 speakers, I am happy with the current performance.
