Had to cut the factory connectors off, splice in the new cords (red to red, black to black) but that’s no big deal The housing is slightly too small but nothing some E6000 and electrical tape can’t fix Overall great, steady output, and I’m happy to have caps on my old lighter sockets again. Review of Car Cigarette Lighter Socket - 12V Cigarette Lighter Socket with Waterproof Cover & Extension Cable - Universal Car Accessories Lighter Power Outlet Socket for Car Truck SUV Motorcycle I ordered this to use in my 2002 Ford Taurus. It has two outlets, and this main one is defunct. I needed it to plug a dashcam into one outlet and my cell phone into the other. This DID NOT FIT or properly connect to my vehicle as the Amazon guide stated it would! I had not removed my bad unit prior to getting this one to replace it. Then, the old one broke getting it out, and it was then that I found out that the connection plugs were totally different. I went ahead and had to use this at this point or have a hole in my dashboard with old wires hanging out. This new socket was not even close to being the correct diameter either. The new socket was much smaller than the original OEM socket. So now I am going to have to find a way to secure it into the larger opening. I used the accompanying wires of the new socket and fed them through the rear of the dashboard and into the fuse box. The wires are approximately 40 inches in length. There is also an inline fuse in the positive wire. There was not much left over after running the wiring to power and ground. The new socket works. It was just not worth it to me to send it back and try to find an exact match to my OEM socket. The price is reasonable. If anything changes to require an update to this review, I always try my best to update. Hope this helps someone decide about this product.
