I've been using a Baratza Encore for well over a decade and decided to put it into retirement. It has served me well, but I wanted to try something different. The Capresso Infinity Plus has exceeded my expectations. First, the Capresso is much quieter than the Encore and does a great job of grinding coffee course or fine. The adjustments are easy to make and clearly marked. It also stops grinding by itself, thanks to the timer control. (Note: if you use different coffees and grind only as much as you need for a pot, no problem. Weigh your coffee, put it in the hopper, then set the dial to run the grinder long enough to grind it all. I wouldn't count on the timer's numbers to correlate to number of cups of coffee, as some have suggested.) Our family is very pleased with the Capresso Infinity Plus grinder. We even feel that the coffee is being ground better, resulting in improved coffee flavor, and that's what it's all about!

Love this grinder! This is the third coffee grinder I bought and don't regret it! The other two (different brands) just didn't work right. This one is AMAZING! It doesn't blow grinds all over the counter. The grind is consistent. It is also quiet! My son has this grinder. I'd tried the other two because I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but sometimes spending the extra is worth it; and in this case it was! You cannot go wrong with this grinder! Capresso Infinity Plus (Silver) Model 575 05 Received on 2/20/21 - using Daily - Hopper & Grounds (plastic) Container fit perfectly into respective locations (good, parts quality control) - Hopper easily rotates for grind setting and easily removable (& inserted) when following Instructions - Grounds Container’s top & sides a perfect fit (good, parts quality control) - Grinding begins immediately upon turning Timer (to desired setting) - Mechanically, Timer works well; easy adaptation to its operation - Post-grinding: grounds (for my measure) do not find their way out of the Container, but are wholly captured inside (good, parts quality control) - Static inside Grounds Container, after grinding, can be mitigated when removing (Hint: tap Container’s side immediately after slowly withdrawing) - Upper & Lower Burrs: appear well made, but daily cleaning will be required (as with all burr grinders) for long term, consistent grinding - ** Soft Collar (on Upper Burr) does not appear purchasable as a replacement part (it is not shown at Capresso’s web site & no mention in User Instructions) - Soft Collar, which is to be in place (guides beans to Lower Burr chamber), simply slips around (using tension) the top-edge of Upper Burr; vulnerable to tearing or stretching (if badly or continually removed) - softness of this Collar is no doubt, designed to gently guide beans [if a Collar is critical to feeding beans to Lower Burrs & can not (ever) be purchased as a replaceable part, a different, collar design might have been better option, avoiding being rendered unusable. Overall, I really like this machine. I do not regret buying it; and, I am buying another. The plusses are that for one thing most first evident, It looks good and feels like a well constructed and designed machine. The grind quality is excellent in the medium up to the uppermost levels of Fine. It may do pretty well in the super fine settings; but, I expect a lesser quality of very fine grinding. I use the machine in the upper medium range and the grind seems very consistent with a minimal amount of fines dust. My machine is very quiet considering the chassis on My model of the Infinity Plus is plastic. I imagine the metal models may even be quieter, albeit a bit heavier. One of the particular traits which I do not enjoy is the buildup of static in the ground coffee fines. I have researched everything I can find and this negative appears to be common with every other burr type coffee grinder regardless of price. One solution which seems to work very well is unbelievably simple. I discovered the idea on "You Tube". Wet the handle of a regular metal spoon and use the spoon handle to stir the measured unground coffee beans. The thought is that is just enough moisture to greatly reduce the static of the upcoming grinding. It seems to work! I tried another idea from "You Tube" putting a few drops of water on top of the beans. That idea seemed not to work. I believe that doing that added to much moisture to the beans and the grind clogged the discharge chute. I went down from 5 stars to 4 stars because of a failure of the mechanical timer. As An engineer and I am very familar with how mechanical things can fail even if they are new. I do believe the Capresso Infinity to be a good quality machine and decided to get another Capresso. I processed the easy return for My 570.01 black plastic model. I am replacing it with an upgrade 565.05 metal housing model, hoping for even a quieter machine. Plus, of course, the new timer in the new machine. I believe from a lot of looking and research that the grinding mechanisms on all the models of infinity look to be the same. The Capresso model numbers seem to only change to denote the color of the plastic models and housing material either metal or plastic. The plastic models also come in either black plastic color or silver plastic color. The metal model is only in silver color. I am anxiously waiting for My new metal Capresso. I believe I shall be very pleased with My purchase. I do not anticipate that I'll have another timer failure. Thanks Dave, Vermont

First of all I really like this product. One of my old employers had one of these and it was much quieter than the previous one the office had. The plastic feels premium as far as plastic goes. The grinder itself is dead simple to use especially if you are like me and only grind what you need. I normally only put 1 to 2 scoops of coffee beans in the grinder at a time but I have heard you can fill it up and use the grind timer to estimate the amount of grounds you want. The tray area where the coffee grounds drop does get a little messy from fine coffee bean grounds overtime. This is easy to clean with a damp paper towel. You can clean the grinder by removing the hoper but I have not had to do this yet since I bought it but it is serviceable which I do appreciate. There are not many cons for this grinder considering its feature set and price point. Yes you could buy a nice hand powered grinder for less than this one. Yes there are cheaper electric grinders out there. Yes there are even nicer grinders with more features and a more premium feel to them out there. This specific grinder hits a lot of sweet spots for me like I mentioned above. You got something that is relatively quiet for a coffee bean grinder, simple to use, easy to clean, and reliable. If you appreciate the pros I mentioned above then I am sure you will also appreciate this grinder like I do.

This is my first coffee grinder so I have nothing to compare it to. So I expected there to be something I would have to learn. It will take a little playing around with the dial to understand what the numbers equate to the type of grind you get. So keep a coffee that you like on hand that is already ground up so that you can compare the grinds from this grinder to that of what you're familiar with. Set the hopper to a grind setting you feel matches a coffee you like. Dial to #2 let it grind (this is so you don't grind too much). It starts grinding as soon as you move the dial. Compare the grinds to what you have on hand. Repeat that if necessary till you get close to what you want. Then brew a cup or 2 to see if you like it. If not, keep trying till you get it. Once you get it dialed in, you'll be able to grind a consistent result all the time. Just be sure to make note of the grind setting of the hopper. Because when you remove the hopper for cleaning, this will remove the setting. So take a quick pic of it with your phone or mark it on a sticky note and attach that somewhere visible (on the fridge maybe?) All in all, so far it's a great grinder. I would think it's way more quiet than a blade grinder since the beans aren't flying about in a container being beaten by a blade. They're simply being pulverized by the conical burr grinder. Which works pretty fast. As far as what it compares to in terms of noise, it's more quiet than a nutribullet when blending a shake. Cleaning it is beyond easy. And there is plenty of room to fit a brush, and maybe a rag of some sort to help with it. Other grinders in the same price range seemed like they would be very difficult to clean when compared to this one. I highly recommend this if it's your first grinder.

UPDATED with pictures of THREE (3) JUNKED Capresso by JURA If any one wants them, they are going to be dropped off at the local transfer station (Town Dump) recycling shed (on Powisset St.) BTW, two years ago, after the last of the failures, including paying the $100 for factory-rebuilt replacement, I gave up and have been very happy with the slightly less functional inexpensive grinder that is quieter, and perhaps because it is solid plastic does not have the same difficulty with static electricity causing build up of grinds on the container ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.8 years ago, my 50 year old Braun German-made grinder expired of old age. I purchased the Capresso 575 which for under two years was my dream coffee grinder. I've left multiple positive answers and great references for this machine since I bought it BUT NOT NOW (read on!) - first thing in the morning and late at night (I'm a retired firefighter/medic and got pushed into Public Health after retirement so starting in early March, 2020, have found myself working 16-20 hours per day/7 days a week for essentially no pay). The Capresso was so quiet and so reliable -- UNTIL IT WAS NOT! This morning, anticipating yet another day of increased infection rate, more citizen issues, and the need for my morning coffee at 5:48 a.m., I turned the time wheel and no power. The receptacle was not the problem. The grinder motor simply would not even operate. The Juro Capresso provides no reference nor assistance. Searches for troubleshooting suggest this can happen but no reason given. The power cord has never even been extended or stretched. The hopper sits and spins perfectly. No troubleshoot idea applies. It simply DIED. The base is impenetrable because Juro used bolts that are either proprietary or are non-removable. Answer IT Breaks, you buy again seems to be their answer. Can I recommend it now? NO - DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND IT IS UNRELIABLE! ADDED 19-JAN-20 I do follow-up online purchases with recommendations and almost always the content is positive. Indeed, even for this purchase it was indeed very positive, as were the subsequent postings in response to questions of prospective purchasers. That all changed this weekend. My days since early March have started anywhere from 5:30 a.m. to 6:15 a.m., and frequently last past midnight. I've typically run through 3 if not 4 of these 18 ounce mugs filled with brewed coffee (French Roast dark), and if I am lucky my spouse or my administrative assistant (depending on whether working from home office or municipal office) push me to have something to eat usually by 3 p.m. or later. This was January 11th at 4:08 p.m. picture with mug ;even while getting a bite, it is no less than two monitors open; office would show 4 monitors & 3 computers. The last thing I needed was my coffee grinder of less than 2 years age dying and leaving me without those 3 to 4 mugs to keep me going.

This is our fourth and latest grinder over the last 15 years. All were manufactured by different major companies. In many ways, this Capressso is the best so far: 1) VERY nice, consistent grind which is easy to adjust 2) Very easy to operate, disassemble and clean 3) The grind procedure is fast. Note: Directions state grinding should be limited to 3 minutes at a time. That is not practical for us, so I did 1/2 of a bag (12 minutes), no heat problem. I allowed the Capresso to sit for 20 minutes, then finished the bag's contents. Again, no problem or obvious heating of the Capresso noted. 4) The Capresso is more thoughtfully designed than others we have used. The conical burrs appear to be well designed, bean feed was smooth and maintenance of the grind chamber is pretty easy. We use a dark roast that is rather oily and we had no issues with clogging. 5) Quiet operation with very minimal vibration 6) THE ONE NEGATIVE...From the first 12 cup grind, this unit generated MORE STATIC than any unit I have experienced! The clinging coffee grounds became a problem reinserting the ground coffee container and that area had to be cleaned repeatedly during the grind. also, fair amounts of ground coffee were stuck inside the grind container making emptying messy. Our counter top and the machine were covered with errant coffee particles by the time I finished. I am glad we grind in quantity: I can't imagine going through that mess every day.
