  • Quality Rack/Pull-up bar!
Color: Gray
I have a membership at a gym but sometimes I'm not able to get over there when they're open. So I wanted to work out at home during those times. I was looking for a good squat rack that also had a pull-up bar -- and not a pull-up bar that was narrow (meaning, I couldn't spread my arms out). When I saw the CAP Barbell Deluxe Power Cage, it quickly went to the top of my list, especially at the price point that it was listed. And since putting it together, it seems to be all that I need. It was easy to put together and didn't take but an hour at the most (with 2 people it'll take even less time). The materials are solid/quality. You can adjust the height of the bar holder and squat safety poles. The pull-up bar is wide. With the weights added on the bar sides, the rack becomes even more stable if you decide you want to do some "kipping". The only downside is I had to buy the Olympic bar and weights separately. But I found a great deal at a local store. I highly recommend this if you're a guy or gal who likes to workout regularly. If you're a cross-fitter or want to go to the next level as far as weights, you might do well to splurge on the more expensive and "thicker" racks. I'm 6', 184 lbs and this works well for me, whether squatting or doing pull-ups with my 20# vest. ... show more

  • Perfect entry level squat rack!!! Perfect entry level squat rack!!!
Color: Gray
Before purchasing this squat rack, I did EXTENSIVE research on what to buy and what to skip. This was one of the cheaper squat racks but still meeting my needs. The only thing I initially noticed was there’s only one color option but I’m also just being picky. - Let’s talk about shipping. The shipping speed was fast and arrived sooner than I thought it would. However, the packaging was absolutely obliterated. The box had old water damage that weakened the integrity of the package. The tape was half off. The seller needs to package this with those white plastic ties that go around the box. - After getting the package inside and emptied out, all of the hardware and pieces present and accounted for. Assembly was straight forward. You really have to be lacking brain cells in order to have any difficulty assembling. A lot of other people who have bought this squat rack, complain of the rack “not being sturdy enough”. This rack is pretty sturdy if you put enough effort into making all bolts and nuts super tight. If you need more stability, utilize the anchor points and attach it to the floor. - Overall, this is a great purchase and I am thoroughly happy with the rack. Seller could do better at packaging. ... show more

  • Good but not great
Color: Gray
The rack itself is great, works well enough for a "this'll do". Some cons: - some areas of the rack came dented, scratched, that made the bolts a tiny bit harder to get through because the metal looked flexed out. - the J hooks and spotter arms are absolutely NOT it. They dont sit flush on the rack, the back support of it feels very cheap, so PLEASE invest in some better J-hooks and spotter arms for your own safety. Some pros: - Was quick and easy to put together - does the job, still needs better hooks and arms. ... show more

  • Fantastic Fantastic
Color: Gray
For $189 it is extremely hard to rate this other than 5 stars as it is solid enough for: 1) Bench Press 2) Squats 3) Olympic Rings 4) Plate Storage 5) Pull-ups 6) Resistance Bands I'm ~6' tall and can use the pull-up bar and Olympic rings without any problems. With iron plates shown on storage pegs the unit does NOT shift or tip -- even when using Olympic rings for pushups, reverse flies, etc. The only "gotchya" I noticed is due to design of the spotter arms. They wrap around the posts from the left. Therefore, if you plan moving the spotter arms from a lower position for bench pressing (near the plate storage peg), you may need to first remove plates from left storage peg prior to moving the spotter arm to a higher position (such as squats). And yes, the spotter arms can be longer, etc. But the holes measured 1" and the posts 3" X 3" so they can be upgraded with "Standard Monster-Style” rack ecosystem arms...which is fantastic. And again... $189... Which is cheaper than it was nearly 6 years ago... To get results NOW... ... show more

  • Packaging SUCKS. Product is great. Packaging SUCKS. Product is great.
Color: Gray
So, the other reviewers were right --- this box will arrive completely trashed!! My review of CAP's packaging is 1 star, and UPS gets -100 stars for dragging it behind their truck for 3 days as per usual. Only by sheer blind luck did I manage to have all the hardware. The hardware is in a separate shrink-wrapped container inside the box, but due to the really crappy packaging it was beat to bloody hell and washers/nuts were loose inside the box and the box itself had holes on the corners. So - I got lucky that no washers or nuts were missing. I did have to have a guy friend bend one of the small bar support pieces though - it got damaged and bent in the box and wouldn't fit over the vertical leg. That being said, it went together super easy and the product itself is awesome. I'm a 130# female and assembled it myself in under an hour. Not sure why some people were saying some of the bolts weren't long enough - they all fit. A word of advice on the upper half of the vertical legs - those two legs have 6 bolts each and if you tighten down the first bolt all the way then the other 5 holes might not line up right, so leave them all sort of loose until all 6 bolts are in, then tighten them all down. Seems common sense to me - everything will go together as it should. I'm really excited to have gym-quality equipment at home now - this product is very versatile and well worth the cost. ... show more

  • Save Your Money & Buy A Well Known Brand
Color: Orange
Buying this “rack” was probably one of my biggest regrets of 2020. Although it was cheap and available, I should’ve just waited to buy a brand that possesses quality and outstanding customer service like Rogue. Everyday I look at this poor piece of excuse of gym equipment in my garage and it brings me down. The safety arms bend when there’s 135# on it and it feels as if it’s going to snap and cause severe injury. The metal is thin and feels flimsy. The j-cups are also of poor quality. Aside from the rack itself, customer service is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I got this “rack” on April 21st. It’s now October 1st. I’ve been asking them to send me ONE component that went missing in the shipping process. Initially they promised to take care of it. Months go by and they said they’ll check on it. Months go by again and they say they won’t be getting this item until the end of the month. Another month goes by and someone went to go check with the warehouse. That person went to go check LAST THURSDAY. Now I think they got lost on the way back from the warehouse so they can send me an email saying they won’t be able to ship it until winter of 2021. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. The quality is 2/10 and your chances of injury are highly likely. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY FROM A COMPANY that is worth the wait. If someone broke into my garage, they’d see the name CAP Barbell and just take EVERYTHING EXCEPT this poor excuse for a rack. UPDATE 06/19/2021: This is still a price of crap. I took it apart and dumped it. I wouldn’t even try to sell it for $20. ... show more

  • Good for starter home gym
Color: Gray
Pros: What I needed for my home gym, sturdy when weighted down on flat surface, price was right for the quality, easy to assemble Cons: Missing parts, customer service hard to access, some pieces damaged in shipping Overall: Great for my home gym use, you get what you pay for, don't expect perfection. As far as the quality once in use - would have given 4-5 stars if it were not for all of the issues with packaging and missing/damaged parts. CAP would be better off investing in better packaging and having better quality assurance checking, would save them money in the long run I'm sure. 1) Packaging: as others have found, the package it comes in is TERRIBLE. The reason is that the box it comes in is very thin cardboard. So by the time this thing gets thrown around in shipping, it is destroyed. Mine was at least still intact and held together. 2) Unpacking: I was missing one piece. Some pieces were slightly bent but did not affect the use or building of unit. One of the weight holders was missing. Not critical to the use of the equipment but it does aid in weighting the unit down if you can hold your weights on it. I have tried multiple times to call CAP with the service number provided. The service voicemail box is always full. You can't talk to a real person. I tried online and filled out their form for replacement parts. The unit didn't even come up as an option so I had to figure out a way to manipulate their system to at least tell them what I was missing. It has been 5 days and I have heard nothing. I found another number online, same thing, automation transfers you around until it hangs up on you. Next step is email customer service directly. (I will update if they ever contact me and I won't give up) This is very frustrating so if you are missing a critical part, I would make every attempt to just pack it back up (if you can) and return to Amazon for another unit - don't give up on the unit- just ask for a new one. 3) Assembly: This was actually very easy. I did it alone with no help. Would suggest you use your own tools as what comes with it is junk (think Ikea) Was much easier with a socket set and got everything nice and tight. The directions were all pictures and I found them easy to follow but I could see where if you are not good with spacial recognition, it could look a little confusing. Look over them before you get started and lay out your parts, This will make it easier and faster. 4) Use: Everything is very sturdy so far. I would love to have my missing part as that will make it all the more sturdy but even without it, it seems to be fine. I will never lift close to the weight limit on this thing as I am in no way a professional lifter and I am an average CrossFitter at best. I am female and weigh about 140. Kipping on the pull-up bar is easy and I don't find it to rock or shake or be unbalanced with weight on it. I have put all my weights on with the bar (200) and it does not bend, move, or appear to be under any pressure with this amount of weight. I know people will want to get this because it is cheap. If you intentions are to use it like I do for pull ups, lighter lifting, then this will be fine for you. If you are a heavy lifter but trying to go cheap think twice, I would invest in a more expensive unit. ... show more

  • Great buy, gets the job done!
Color: Gray
The rack was easy to assemble. I recommend you use your own tools if you have tools rather than use the tools that come in the box. A drill with the right drill bit and a ratchet and socket or pliers will save you a lot of time. It took my son and I about 20 minutes to build. The squat rack serves our purpose perfectly. We bench and squat within the 250Lb-300Lb range, and it holds up more than well. We did have to anchor it to floor as its frame is hollow and it is pretty light weight. The rack allows you to comfortably bench press in all three positions, decline, incline and flat. The rack is made to be used with a 7ft olympic bar. The pull up bar is sturdy and holds up well. Again, the only drawback I see with this rack is that it is hollow, the metal frames is thin and that makes it a little less sturdy than I would like it. However, I think you could squat and bench into the 300lb- 400lb range comfortably, anything above that you will probably need a sturdier rack. I believe the maximum weight capacity is about 500lb. For our purpose, it was a great buy for the price! ... show more
