I’m pleased with the results I have seen when using this product to moisturize my completely dry, medium length, very thick, coarse, 3c/4a hair to make a ponytail with a Bunzee Band, which is sold on Amazon.com. It has made my strands elastic enough so I can gently pull them tighter with the band on. Therefore my head doesn’t look bigger than what it is once my hair is put into a ponytail. I like the curl definition my ponytail has after applying it. The moisture and light hold of this curl activator lasts all day and keeps frizz away in the dry weather of the Southwestern United States. I’m glad my hair doesn’t feel rough or crunchy after applying it, even though I’ve used a lot to moisten my hair. It feels soft instead. For reference - I have thick, very coarse hair between wavy and curly, typical 2c hair type. Very resistant, plus henna so very very non-porous. This product I used to refresh - my hair was stretched out and frizzy but overall shape and volume OK. I wet my hands and squirted a little bit in, maybe dime size? Raked and smoothed it in, repeated 3 times to cover all the hair, adding water as needed by wet hands. Scrunched ever so gently once all hair was damp and smoothed out. Could see the curls bouncing back up as this was going on. Diffused, mostly hovering around the hair not touching it. Then air dry without touching, then praying hands to smooth out the crunch. The product really helps the water to actually dampen the hair (mine is low porosity and can resist water when it's dry), and provides moisture and definition. The curls bounced back, are heavy but not in a bad way, very defined and strong and smooth feeling. Time will tell if it holds the day, but a radically successful refresh looks-wise. Picture is with it just barely damp, almost entirely dry. I regret no before image but it sure didn't look like this! I do not know if I will repurchase, though, because the scent is SO LOUD I cannot wear perfume for fear of it clashing, and it's so scented so close to my nose. I am not by any stretch of the imagination sensitive to fragrances, this is just an intensely scented product. I have what I consider between 2A-2B hair - depending on the weather. And tends to be frizzy. I started using this and it definitely helps the "waves" more consistently be on the 2B side with much less frizz and more curl. It seems to help calm it without weighing it down or making it oily-looking, even when using the next day on dry hair. The scent, while it smells great, is very strong and lasts a while - smells like a pineapple. So if you are sensitive to scents, it will probably mess with you. ... show more

I tried this and was delighted by the way it revived my waves and made them look great. The smell isn't bad, it's kind of a fruity/coconut smell, but it is STRONG and it LINGERS. I was still smelling it at the end of the day, and a week later, I'm still smelling it on the hair towel I used to dry my hair AFTER WASHING IT after I used this product. I think a lot of people think "if it smells good, I want to keep smelling it!" and if that's you, you'll probably be happy with this. I have a very limited tolerance for strong scents. I will note that some scents are serious headache triggers for me and this wasn't, but it was a strong artificial "tropical fruit" kind of smell that reminded me of Juicy Fruit gum and I just did not want it with me 24/7. ... show more

My once youthful, bouncy curls had become a frizzy mess. Gone were the days of wash and go hair years ago as my hair texture changed with age. I read about this on a Buzzfeed list and though for $6 I would give it a go. I washed my hair last night and applied as directed (mostly) and sipped wine, playing on my phone while it dried.
