  • 9 year old son loves it
Color: Black Style: 8599B001
It's a nice little camera. I bought the blue one, too. The pictures come-out clear, as well as the videos. It has an optical zoom lens, fits in a tiny bag, and my 9 year old(s) love it. The battery/memory card slot area is well designed (close the cover when the card or battery is out!). There's a little button to keep the battery from sliding-out on its own when you open the cover. The SDHC card does the usual push in to pop-out, and clicks back in. I think these are easy to manage, and take good pictures, even for my kids. I really like the little rechargeable battery and the charger that came with it. They are well-made and the batteries click-in to both camera and charger nicely. This is pushing the kids' responsibility level up a notch (wife thought I was crazy, but so far, so good). They have to charge their batteries, copy their photos and movies to the computer, keep their 16GB cards from overflowing, and not break them. I bought warranties for both. I never buy those. This time I did. Just a matter of time. ... show more

  • A Great Little Camera!
Color: Silver Style: Body Only
I was shopping in Amazon for a Lumix DMC-LX7 and I stumbled upon this Little camera FOR LESS THAN $80! I thought "why not?". It arrived on Christmas Eve, so I charged the battery (less than 3 hrs) and gave it to my two year old granddaughter. She LOVED it. While the menus may not be intuitive, the user interface - automatic focus and exposure make it possible for a two year old to use it, and to take some pretty good photos. EVERYONE wants to pose for a two year old photographer. Pretty fun, When she's not using it, I carry it around in my pocket. I know that there is the potential for getting a stuck lens, but for <$80, I'm willing to take that chance. If you don't have a camera with you, you just don't get the shots you want. My wife likes to borrow it because it takes much better pictures than her iPhone. Image quality is good (maybe not as good as a Leica, but pretty good!). I like Canon's warm flesh tones, it eliminates my desire to color correct every shot. LOVE IT! ... show more

  • ELPH 115 Digital Camera
Color: Silver Style: Body Only
Great little camera that needs very little adjustments. We use it daily and only wish it would click faster to catch our new puppy in his antics. It's not as slow as our A30 Canon in snapping shots was but still maybe that's a digital problem. Can't really complain, we just keep clicking. The screen is a good size so you can see the picture without difficulty. BUT, if you are outside and it's very bright out, you will have trouble seeing on the screen what you are trying to take and need to guess you have it, there is no view finder. For the average photog it's a good buy and takes really nice clear shots. A November addition to my September review. Be very careful of dropping, bumping or whatever with this little camera. Ours met the side of the house and then the deck when icy steps took my husband down. The camera then said "lens error, restart". Not happening. Need to send for repair or replacement but need to buy a magnifying glass so I can read the insurance plan received from Canopy. ... show more

  • DOA - With update
Color: Blue Style: Body Only
Well, I can't necessarily speak to the quality of the item when it arrives with an LCD that doesn't work. So, I'll give it a 1. The reviews make this seem like a fun little spare camera (though why would anyone buy a point and shoot to legitimately "get in to photography" is beyond me) to keep around. That's what I'd have used it for. Until next time... Edit 6/11/14: after purchasing another one of these (same model/color) from a different source (the DOA camera did come from amazon though) I can give a real review. It is definitely a nice little point and shoot. It's fun to use. The different photo settings allow a little fun when using it, and the vivid setting is wonderful when outside. The miniature setting REALLY does give the listed effect, love it! This thing can get really, really close to your subject. IT may take a sec or two to focus, but it gets there. I'd upload samples if I could. So, I am changing my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. It does exactly what I need it to do, and then some, so, I am very happy with this camera. Do not get this to "get into photography" as it doesn't allow the control you need. But, it's not supposed to - you point then shoot... ... show more

  • It's ok for the price...
Color: Blue Style: Body Only
I got this for about $69. It's ok for the price, but I wish I had spent a little more and got a better camera. It tends to blur alot of pics, I get red eyes alot even with everything set in order to not get red eye. It does the job as far as I really needed something to use other than my iphone camera all the time, as this is very small and lightweight, easy to put into my purse even in the case. I have a huge canon that I just cannot lug around everywhere all of the time. So that's why I really wanted to go with something lighter in weight and easy to grab on the go for when I need it. And I also really wanted something that worked fantastic in low light as I need something like that for school functions with my kids when we are in the auditorium. But I just cannot get this to work very well in low light whatsoever. Perhaps I'm not setting a function correctly, but I have tried everything I can think of and cannot get it to work in low light very well at all. It's very frustrating. I can't say I'd purchase this again. But for now, it works for what I need. ... show more

  • If I could rate this less than 1 star, I would
Color: Blue Style: Body Only
I have been using the Canon Elph series for over a decade now... This will be my 4th generation (and last) that I purchase. I love the elphs because they are cheap (I drop things) and they take nice pictures that I can blow up. Basically they are a good bang for the buck. This camera is basically terrible. The camera itself is slow, but meh that's a thing I can deal with. The thing that sucks about this camera is there is limited ability of manual control. The camera compresses the images and the sensors are so out of wac that I all my pictures are grainy beyond a 4x6 print. This camera is great if you are looking for a thumbnail on facebook or instagram (but that's what cell phones are for). In fact, my Galaxy S3 takes a better picture. ... show more
