  • Mine was a lemon/Beginner, buy a T6! Mine was a lemon/Beginner, buy a T6!
Color: Black Style: Body
I have been a photographer for 6 years now and I started with a Canon T3i and kit lens combo. I loved it and spent most of my spare time learning all I could. My next purchase was the “ nifty fifty “ naturally because every review I read said it was a must have. I liked it and it taught me about depth of field and I learned that I love a razor thin , shallow dof! I bought the Canon 24mm pancake lens and it became my favorite lens. Still is. My T3i has been having issues so I decided to upgrade. I’m on a limited income so I can only do so much financially. I also know that the best investment you can make , is in the lenses you buy. A great lens and knowledge will take you a long way in the kind of images your camera takes. I read tons of reviews and decided to buy The T7i. I was torn between it and the 77D because of the top LCD screen. They seemed almost identical in almost every other way but when I compared images on several photo sites, the T7i seemed to be the better of the two. It was also advertised as being smaller than the 77D. That appealed to me. I received it a few days ago, along with the new STM version of the 50mm instead of the kit lens. I’ve only used it a few times inside and in my front yard, planning on really testing it out this coming weekend. I noticed the usual Canon color science seemed to be ... different. Washed out but I chalked it up to being a different processor and just not used to the settings. It was also the same size and only slightly lighter in weight than my T3i. The 50mm 1.8 was also not as good as I had hoped. I put my kit lens from my T3i on the camera and immediately got sharper images. To be honest, I was disappointed. The DIGIC 7 processor seemed worse than the DIGIC 4! The colors are much brighter and sharper in my T3i! Skin tones are more realistic. I tried all the in camera settings. Standard, Fine, Neutral, etc. and tried different exposures and white balance settings. I still wasn’t ready to give up.... until today. 3 days after receiving my poorly packaged camera and lens. It came in a box without any type of padding at all. No paper, nothing at all just sliding around in the box. I was again, reading the manual and trying out different settings and the camera just froze. The LCD screen wouldn’t work. The buttons wouldn’t work. I couldn’t even turn it off. I had to remove the battery and put it back in to get it to turn off! That was enough for me. I immediately arranged for a return label for both items. I’m sure I got a lemon but I don’t think I would have been happy with this “ upgrade” anyway. Canon seems to be putting out the same product with small upgrades every other year. The T6 is nothing but the T3i with WiFi. For $300 I could have had the same thing, since I don’t usually shoot a bunch of fast moving objects. However, I have been able to shoot many many birds using just 9 focus points , with single focus points. I can’t recommend the T7i but I also can’t NOT recommend it. For a beginner, but a T6 and get a great set of lenses. That way, when you are ready to upgrade, you won’t need new lenses. I also highly recommend the Canon 24mm f2.8 pancake lens. You won’t regret it. It’s also only about $130 U.S. which is perfect for such a remarkable lens. I know this review is long but I hope it helps someone. The auto focus on the T7i was fast and accurate especially when using live view. The touch focus in live view mode was great but I missed the touch and drag feature the Canon M50 and some other mirrorless camera’s have. I do wish the camera didn’t have the “ freeze “ issue because I would have liked to see if I could conquer the IQ issues but maybe it was a sign of things to come. ... show more

  • My Appologies To Canon for my previous & Incorrect review - The Camera Is Very Good - My Bad
Color: Black Style: Body
I originally mentioned a shakiness on playback problem using the 60fps, but this proved to be the fault of my playback being used on my PC, the playback on the camera is great and I found the problem on the PC to be from particular playback software, using other software the 60fps videos were fine. I love it, but For beginners? Well, maybe if it's a very smart beginner who's half engineer and catches on quick, and doesn't want to spend several thousand on their first camera. In other words, you don't have to be an engineer to figure these things out and get them working right, but it sure doesn't hurt anything if you are. But once you get it figured out it's pretty good stuff. I'd say it's both for beginners and pros alike. You can get into that mega-bucks camera from NASA a little later. And those fancy things mounted on the tiny helicopters, yeah they do really cool stuff and get great scenery, but not so good for the close-up stuff I like. This one is perfect for now, with the Canon interchangeable lenses. Both the Canon 18 mm & 300 mm I have a great zoom on them, in addition to the digital zoon that can also be used in some modes. So if it's telephoto shooting you're looking for, look no further. Setting up the WiFi & Bluetooth for remote control use with a phone or tablet I found difficult, but I got through it. Love the fact that it does video as well as photos. Was going to get the T8i with the 4K but some of the reviews were not too keen on that. 4K is a bit top heavy with the bandwidth demands and all, it's nice but not that nice when it doesn't work so well, this T7i does a great job with the 1080p and is nearly as good as 4K and less money. I also saw some bashing of the lenses and Auto-Focus regarding this camera, but I've found the lenses and auto-focus to be just fine. In fact I have a 300 mm Canon telephoto lens that has very good auto-focus, and good stabilization as well. It takes good pics and telephoto videos. Love the sound on it, and love the ability to use the sound on Auto or adjustable Manual. I have one of these fancy tiny things people use when jumping off cliffs, from a plane or trying to kill themselves on a motorcycle, but the built in sound does work but is less than ideal, so I use an external microphone with it. Who wants to hear the screams of someone dying anyway. Better to have a silent crash. The sound on this is very nice without an external mic., but an external mic can also be used if desired. ... show more

  • REBEL 7i meets expectations.
Color: Black Style: Body
This is a great camera. Decided to get a camera with a bigger sensor than the SX60. Don't know why Canon doesn't put a bigger sensor in the SX series, but they won't, so I am done with them, though I like the concept. There are some great lenses for this camera that are priced reasonably. The camera is fairly light weight for its size too. But I had to get a bigger camera bag, of course. Well pleased with the quality of pictures. It has the standard automatic features but for outdoor sunlight I set it on Sports. You get a nice high shutter speed plus motor drive. I am from the old school of manual photography where bright sunlight equals 1/ASA at f16. So at ASA 500 you would shoot at 1/500th at f/16. It seems to require another half stop of light like 1/ ASA at F11 plus a half stop. I took the camera to Washington DC and you usually have to shoot without a flash in the museums so I set it on Auto minus flash. You get extraordinary ASA on Auto like 32000 and 64000. and slow shutter speeds, of course. Hold her steady and hope for the best. Images are reasonable so no real complaints. ... show more

  • Well worth the money, easy to use/learn,Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, touch screen, not waterproof
Color: Black Style: Body
Very good camera! Easy to use but plenty to learn. I'm no professional photographer by any means but have been told I take some professional pictures. I'll take some of the credit but this camera is the star of the show! If this camera is missing anything a real "professional photographer" would point out I'm sure they would also point out it makes up for it with all the features it does have. If your looking to step up your game this is definitely the camera if this is in your price range. Not durable as the high price but quality pictures like one ... show more

Color: Black Style: w/ 18-55mm
This is my first “real” camera and I gotta say, every time a take a photo I’m amazed at the clarity and sharpness of the photo. 100 times better than any phone quality and it’s not hard to figure out how to use. This is the perfect camera for events/ vacations/ family get together/ nature walks- and more. The sweet people that sent me the camera also threw in the nice canon carrying bag. I appreciate it. • Great Camera But....
Color: Black Style: Body
So keep in mind I got this camera for youtube vlogging, and the occasional photography for events. Photography wise, pretty good. Good ISO up to about 3200, but nothing over is really usable. Photos came out great, but I have an issue with the video. Don't get me wrong the video quality looks fine, but the built in electronic image stabilization does not. As someone who got it for youtube vlogging the built in image stabilization results in the most horrendous jelly effect you'd ever see. This has resulted in me simply turning off image stabilization, but it was sad as the fact that it had that is what initially drew me to the camera in the first place. Other than that though it's a really solid camera. ... show more

  • Great camera for any skill level
Color: Black Style: w/ 18-55mm
Since I bought this camera I have been using it alot it is very intuitive fairly easy to use as a point and shoot aswell as a more in depth camera 24 megapixels it comes with a 18 to 55mm lens and the strap. It is a really good bigginer to intermediate even professional camera that anyone can use. Love the quality and that it is not super heavy. I also like if you are looking to expand on the lenses you have you get a big array of options with the EF and EF-S mounts it have being able to use full and cropped sensor lenses on this camera body. Over all this camera has great performance and is great quality ... show more

  • Best DSLR with all good features under 800$ - More focus points+More options !
Color: Black Style: Body
Delivered on time. Day 1 I am writing this review.Package came came in very good condition but camera box is not sealed. My first DSLR camera. T7 has Awesome grip and compact with all features what i expected. After one month of research purchased this model. Took some pics with my prime (50mm) lens and came very well. Touch and LCD is really good. More shortcut buttons like wifi, brightness, focus change so without using LCD too it is easy to access all functions when viewing through view finder. Buffer is good, I didn't face any delay or loading when taking Raw+Jpeg pic too. with tax got for 810$ which was not on my budget but I found only this camera at this price available in market with great features. Canon T7 Vs 77D Vs 80 D - go for T7 if you have budget and more using it in photography. Video is also really good. I went off my budget for the only reason of FOCUS points and Dual Auto Focus and its worth it. Video focus too awesome. Personal suggestion, If you are looking for budget camera(Crop Sensor), get some good camera body based on your regular usage(photo or video) then invest on good lens. Don't go for trash bundle package with camera, quality will not be good. I tried T6 2 weeks back and I returned immediately then chose t7 body alone. Spend more time on research before ordering . Got a San Disk (u3 c10) 32GB memory card for this 32$. Prime lens 50 MM got for 135$. Total 960$ spend for body+memory card+ prime lense 50mm ... show more
