  • A spectacular camera, perfect for photo and video
Style: EOS R8 Body Only Set: Body
The Canon R8 amazed me from the first use. The image quality is impressive: true-to-life colors, great dynamic range, and excellent low-light performance. The autofocus is lightning fast and very precise, ideal for car photography and portraits. It also records video in incredible quality, with excellent stabilization and smooth focus. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and perfect for taking on any shoot. Without a doubt, one of the best purchases I've ever made; I recommend it 100%. ... show more

  • Great Value Camera Kit with Professional Results
Style: EOS R8 Content Creator Kit Set: Set - Kit
This is simply a great camera and the kit provides excellent value including the remote, small handle-tripod and external microphone. On-board camera audio quality is already excellent and the external microphone makes it better and more directional and the fuzzy dead-cat helps suppress wind noise nicely. The camera itself is super a the RF lenses are fantastic even the included kit lens works perfectly and its image stabilization in the the lens (IS) works very well. While the kit lens aperture isn’t the fastest the R8 can still make excellent photographs with its larger full-size sensor. This camera has helped teach me the basics of photography and allows plenty of advanced capabilities for me to grow into with more experience. ... show more

  • Great entry level camera.
Style: EOS R8 Body Only Set: Body
If you are wanting to jump into the full frame camera world, then this is a great option. The Canon RF system is growing in leaps and bounds and this body is a great price to get started. It has all the internals of the Canon R6II so you get the fast AF, accurate tracking, and amazing picture quality. The battery is much smaller in this model but you can buy replacements at a good price. It only has one card reader but that is more than sufficient for beginners. The camera is lighter and smaller than the R6II so I find it easy to carry for travel and walking. With the 50mm lens I find it to be a great street photography camera. Video is amazing as well with 4K60 in C-LOG3 that is beautiful. Overall this is a bargain for entry into the RF system and provides amazing images, fast autofocus, and lightweight. You can not go wrong with this camera. ... show more

  • Magic in your hands: amazing low light performance
Style: EOS R8 Body Only Set: Body
Having owned the Canon R8 full-frame camera for over a year now, and having put it through its paces across numerous travels and events, I can confidently say this camera is an absolute marvel. It has consistently performed exceptionally well, exceeding my expectations in every aspect, and truly deserves a solid 5/5 rating. For years, my trusted companion was the Canon 5D Mark II, a workhorse that served me well. However, stepping up to the R8 has been nothing short of a super upgrade. The leap in technology, performance, and user experience is profound. The R8 feels incredibly nimble and responsive in hand, a stark contrast to the bulkier DSLR. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) is crisp and provides an accurate preview of the final image, which is a game-changer for exposure and white balance adjustments on the fly. One of the most striking features of the R8 is its phenomenal low-light performance. I've captured stunning images in dimly lit environments, from twilight landscapes to indoor event photography, with remarkably clean files and minimal noise. The advanced autofocus system, particularly the subject detection, is incredibly fast and accurate, locking onto eyes and faces with impressive tenacity, even in challenging conditions. This has significantly increased my keeper rate, especially when shooting moving subjects or in dynamic situations. The image quality is simply superb. The full-frame sensor delivers rich colors, excellent dynamic range, and incredible detail. Whether I'm shooting portraits, landscapes, or candid moments, the R8 consistently produces professional-grade results. The video capabilities are also top-notch, offering high-quality footage that's perfect for capturing memories or creating more polished content. Battery life has been surprisingly good for a mirrorless camera, easily lasting through extended shooting sessions. The menu system is intuitive and familiar to any Canon user, making the transition seamless. Its compact and lightweight design has also been a huge plus for travel, allowing me to carry it comfortably for longer periods without fatigue. In conclusion, the Canon R8 is an outstanding full-frame mirrorless camera that offers incredible value for its performance. It has become an indispensable tool in my photography kit, empowering me to capture moments with unparalleled clarity and ease. If you're considering an upgrade, especially from an older DSLR, the R8 is a highly recommended choice that will undoubtedly elevate your photographic journey. ... show more
