  • Best Hybrid Camera for its price
I love this camera. Handles all of my professional video easily while also being a beast in the photography sector!

  • PROFESSIONALS STAY AWAY!!!
DO NOT BUY IF YOUR INTENDING ON USING IN A PROFESSIONAL VIDEO PRODUCTION BUSINESS! Excellent camera; however, this is an international model NOT intended for the US market. Therefore, you will not be able to use Canon CPS when something needs servicing or repair. The description does not include this information and it’s also not eligible for returns. You’ve been warned. ... show more

  • Best value. Get into Canon’s cinema line. Use it for any situation.
I had this camera for the past 2 years and still love it. Even though I have the C70, I prefer the R5C image in certain situations over the C70. Canon has put out a ton of updates unlike the regular EOS R5. Canon stopped doing updates for it and has focused more on the EOS R5II, cinema line, and the most recent cameras. Unfortunately for the R5C, it never came with CLOG2. I want the C50 one day but it doesn’t have a view finder. R5C does. To me, the biggest downfall is the remote app control for video. For its functionality and price, you can’t beat it. If you want to save a couple bucks on the regular R5, just spend the money on the R5C or the R6III for the price point. ... show more

  • Buyers beware. This is an international model and will not be serviced by Canon USA.
The actual cameras itself does the job, no video record limits. and being able to shoot in 8k is amazing. Same great sharp footage from Canon as expected but the lack of in body image stabilization ( IBIS ) is kind of a bummer as footage becomes very shakey again, forget about even using it as a photo camera. Happy to report the cage for Smallrig cage for the regular R5 works just fine with the R5C albeit a liiitle tight but totally workable. The biggest issue is if this ever needs to be serviced I can't do it through canon. Very shadey and was never mentioned. ... show more

  • A Cinema Camera In A Mirrorless Body
This is my second time owning the R5C. I sold it the first time after paying $3800 because the autofocus kept frustrating me. Since then it has under gone a few firmware updates and the autofocus is a lot better. Having autofocus on a cinema camera is a big deal. When the autofocus was one of the selling points originally I got it for more one man band work. At the time it was not reliable and I still would have to pull focus to get a good shot. At that price there was other alternatives. I sold it and went another route. I recently pre-ordered the Pyxis 6K back in April and waited for it to come out and use for an A cam. As you know it still is not out after the 3rd delay for release. So I canceled my pre-order and went another way because I have a project coming up and can no longer wait. I got online and saw the R5C at roughly $2800 refurbished and I pulled the trigger. I have since rigged it with a Cineback and I'm loving it. The autofocus is much better and the 8K RAW is unmatched. You will need a decent PC with good resources to process for post editing. ... show more

  • Nifty top of the line
Refurb made this an excellent value. Savings large enough to allow extended warranty/insurance, and still cost significantly less than the normal price.
